Re: Who remembers the Host Cookbooks from yesteryear?

I remember those! This nostalgic thread got me to thinking about how wonderful it would be to have a new cookbook with a compilation of recipes submitted by current hosts, and a story supporting each.😊

And found this at a local library sale for $1 there are really good home cook recipes in this one..

All host and viewer recipes😃

and a favorite cookbook was Mary Beth Roe's family cookbook.  I haven't used cookbooks so packed most away.  I know it was full of easy yummy kid friendly, entertaining and more type recipes.  I made many when I was still doing a lot of cooking.

I did buy Mark Charles Micilli and Meredith Lawrence cookbooks but have no idea where they are as most of cookbooks are packed away or donated.

(Sorry about sideways pics

@dooBdoo : couldn't figure out the pics so sideways again🙈)

Hi, again, @homedecor1!😊
To avoid the sideways, or upside-down, images uploaded from your iPad, make a small edit of any kind to the image while still on the iPad, save it to the iPad after editing, and then upload it here.
Then, the newly-edited and newly-saved pic will post upright.

As mentioned on the other thread, although this glitch has cropped up in years past I'm not experiencing this with my iPad 6

(iPadOS V. 14.6).

You might try clearing all browser history/cookies/data (if you're using Safari, also be sure to delete website data under the "Advanced-->Website Data" section)

and also be sure the iPadOS is up-to-date.

Hope that helps!

Happy cooking, happy cookbooking, and happy posting!

I hate to admit it BUT I could sew you a wedding dress, drapes, mans suit & more, cater a party for 200, bake, cook, craft yet I'm a tech dummy🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Interesting though I did all the pics as you suggested the 2 worked but not the first🙄...

I think I'll stick to things I'm good at🙈...

I still have both of Mary Beth's cookbooks.  She autographed one many years ago at the Mall of America.

I still both of these as well. Found David's cookbooks at Goodwill.

Just the other day I saw Marybeth's cookbook selling for approximately $600 on Amazon.  Only 1 was available.

I have the 2 pressure cooking books by Bob Warden that are excellent--just used one yesterday to make risotto--- donated most of my enormous cookbook collection the last few years--and have not bought anymore--use the internet for recipes now

  • Sorry @homedecor1 I do not remember a cookbook author who was in her 80's. There was Joanna Lund (I think that's her name) whose books had low cal recipes and Virginia Olson (the Nesco lady). Sadly, I think they both have passed.

I think it was a "bonus" gift with the CE promo when the first pressure cooker came out.  My friend Jerry bought every kitchen appliance & gadget there was from QVC.

Sadly he passed and his sister gave me the book (and many nice gadgets and small appliances) that's why I think it was "gift w/purchase".

Me too I bought lots of vendor cookbooks too. Do you know  Who was a older lady and she had yummiest recipes!  In my move, I can't find that one --I think she was in her 80s when she wrote it🙂
