@Blondie59 wrote:I have a Fresh Market close by. On Thursdays, I pickup a chicken pot pie and a rotisserie chicken for $7.00.
They are great. I also buy their lasagna and their chicken salad. Their daily specials are great and their pre made meals help on days I have to work past 6pm! Good food, and their employees are helpful. I hope they stay here in PA for a long time
I tried the chicken pot pie and it was good unless you can cook.
Here's whai I make. I prefer it.
More chicken and vegetables. The crust is amazing!
Chicken Pan Pie
6 chicken breasts
32 oz Chicken broth
1 can Cream Of Chicken soup
2 tsp salt
2 large ribs celery, chopped
5 carrots, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup frozen small green peas, thawed
1/2 stick butter
1/3 C plain flour
Cook chicken breasts gently to retain liquid with celery, carrots, and peas in salted chicken broth removing scum.
Cool chicken enough to break into bite sized pieces, return to broth.
Melt margarine in pan.
Stir in flour and chicken soup.
Gradually add to hot vegetable mixture.
Pour into greased 9 x 13 casserole
Crust
2 C flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 C oil
1/4 C milk
Mix in small bowl.
Roll out between two pieces of waxed paper, the size of your casserole.
Place dough side down over casserole and peel off top sheet of waxed paper.
Cut crust to vent.
Bake 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

I get the swordfish kabobs and bacon cheddar hamburgers for my husband and I like the condiments aisle. They have so many unusual sauces to make meals with. Their floral department is pretty nice too.

@ECBG ...Well, thanks a lot!! I probably could have gone to the grave without knowing there were stores that had all these ready made wonderful things and been blissfully ignorant. Now I am probably going to be buried drooling and resentful that my state has only 1 of these stores, and it is a 42 minute drive from my town. In greater Boston we have this warped mindset that if anyplace is further than 25 minutes away then we start checking airline schedules.

Everything, I mean everything is absolutely wonderful! Just a 43 min drive isn't bad once or twice a month. You just have to go!

I've got one nearby. Have only gone in there a cople of times when they first opened a few years ago. Bought a rotisserie chicken and it was raw inside. Never went back after that. From what I'm reading here, it might be time to give them a second chance, but I won't be buying that chicken again.

I love FM too. I go for the specials -- buy one/get one bacon on Mondays, chicken and ground chuck 2.99 a pound on Tuesdays, and quiche for 10.00 on Thursday. I also buy coffee beans.
