CoffeeNut, Perhaps I did erroneously think that the hosts only duties were on air but thats all that ee viewers see. We aren't privy to meetings and office work they may be doing so thats our view of the hosts. I still contend the the hosts (not just David) have it easier than many 9 to 5ers who are struggling to make ends meet in this economy. Most have second homes and take vacations regularly.

@Reever  I think their salaries are quite good.  Yes, almost all of them have second  homes and they all take a lot of trips.  They probably get more vacation days than many people.

Peanut21, many viewers view the hosts as extensions of family and friends..some people keep QVC on 15 hours a day as background noise in an otherwise empty home so when hosts go missing threads like this will pop up.

My parents are up in age and I know his mom is too.  Perhaps he’s taking care of family business.  I don’t think it’s any of our business the reason he’s not there.  They have a host, presenters, and products.  Enjoy, change the channel , or find another activity!

Frankly I really do not care when a host goes on vacation, some I love when they are on extended vacations.....sometimes the "fill-in" host is better than the original assigned host!

I don't mind hosts taking time off but I do feel it should be capped at 3 weeks plus 5 days sick time.

@Reever   I get more vacation and sick leave that that, and I'm not on TV.

@Caaareful Shopper . @Reever .  At one of my jobs we used to get 12 sick days per year.

Why is this thread still active? It has been almost 10 days since the OP's inquiry, which has been resolved, and now the "conversation" has devolved into pointlessness...
