Re: Where to find a good Dutch oven?

My Le Creuset Dutch oven was purchased in 1975 and still going strong! Use some care in storing so as not to stack things in it that could possible chip it . Do not ever use Brillo to clean one either, my mom did that when visiting my brother.......Smiley Sad. ................ They are investment pieces but will last and provide excellent service! Williams Sonoma does run sales occasionally, that's how I buy my All Clad pieces. My second choice if the weight of the Dutch oven is a factor, is All Clad. You can't go wrong with either, top quality.

Re: Where to find a good Dutch oven?

Save your money and go to Target to puchase a "Lodge" Dutch Oven. I got mine on sale for $69.99 (they're usually $79.99, so I saved 10 bucks).

If you've got Amazon Prime, I believe you can get Lodge there as well. The price should be really decent and with no shipping, you'll be getting a good deal.

p.s. I use my Lodge ALL the time for various and sundry. No problems, no issues. I love this Dutch Oven and I'm a kitchen snob!

Take a look and see where most Le C. is made these days. I was surprised.

Re: Where to find a good Dutch oven?

After thorough research I decided calling an outlet would be my best bet. I called the one closest to me and the gentleman was very helpful. He said red ovens were 30% off but since I was looking for Caribbean he would give me 20% off which brought it down to $224! I'm not sure if I could have gotten it lower or not, but I am a happy customer nonetheless.

I'm not sure what your needs are, but I happened to see a set of 4 1-cup blue cast iron dutch ovens for $34.99 today. (Plus 5% mr. rebate)
