Where are the Temp-tations Snap On Lids?

Tara introduced a new shallow 3-quart baker today. Very pretty, but no plastic lid. She has not offered plastic lids for her bakers for many months. That was always one of the selling points for me when looking for a baker. I'm glad I already have lots of square, rectangular and oval bakers with lids, but DD and DIL could always use more. The plastic lids allow you to just put the leftovers in the refrigerator.

Now, there is nothing to separate Temp-tations from PW or any other pretty Chinese-made bakers on the market.

@PA Mom-mom  I could whip out my plastic wrap in half the time it would take me to find the correct lid.

Another attempt to save QVC a few pennies.

@PA Mom-mom - I believe you've been collecting Temp-tations for awhile, so I'm sure you know the plastic lids never really fit well and certainly weren't intended to keep the food fresh since they aren't airtight, and as a result, there were lots of complaints about them. I think they've just gone the way of the wire racks—an unnecessary extra piece and cost. If you need a lid, most of the oval bakers are the same size, so if you happen to have a lid from another one, you may be able to use that. Or you could try the silicone lids available from Amazon or other retailers; I have a Charles Viancin "banana leaf" oblong lid that does a nice job on oval and rectangular bakers.

@loriqvc  I know the lids didn't fit well, but they were a solid lid for stacking in the refrigerator.  Thanks for the alternative lid information.

@Kachina624  Plastic wrap doesn't really allow for stacking. I really need that after a T-Day dinner, etc. Especially out in the garage (my "big" refrigerator).

@PA Mom-mom - If stacking is your main objective, try using a cutting board on top of the baker; that's my SIL's trick and it works well.  Smiley Happy

@thatgirl77  I was thinking the same thing! No worries about changing the subject.

@PA Mom-mom   Totally agree - I miss the lids, too. Perfect for stacking and traveling. The majority of cooking these days is for sharing and I could load my dishes with their lids into the car with ease.

Guess you'll need to invest in lock n lock for storage. They do keep food fresher unlike plastic wrap or ill fitting plastic lids on ceramic bakers.
