When you make Crock Pot Mac and Cheese, Do you put eggs in yours??

Just wondering, I have a recipe that calls to add 6 eggs.

I have a couple of different recipes for Crockpot Mac & Cheese. They all call for beaten eggs, but not that many.

I am not a fan of it, but the people I know who make this do use eggs. In fact, there are many recipes for macaroni and cheese that use eggs (not my preference).

I've never done it either, but I guess some people use eggs if it is a 'baked' recipe.

That said, however, I don't really understand why one would make macaroni and cheese in a crock pot. Something that is so easy and can be made on the stove in 15 minutes, or in the oven in less than an hour - why does it need to go into a crock pot for 6-12 hours? Seems like the pasta would turn to mush, for one thing. Or do you just put that in at the very end and simmer the sauce for all those hours? Clearly, I'm confused. ha! Smiley Happy

I'm making this for someone else and the recipe they want me to use has 12 eggs and says to be cooked 1 hour on low and 1 hour on high.

I decided not to put the eggs in it.

My Mom tried a Crock Pot recipe for Mac and Cheese with eggs in it and she said it was grainy.

Jan’s Crockpot Mac and Cheese

Cook 1 pound of elbow macaroni and drain. Add:

1 stick butter

1 can of cheddar cheese soup

1 pound of sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)

1 large can of evaporated milk

1 c milk

salt and pepper to taste.

Mix and cook on low for 3 hours.

My mother always put eggs in mac and cheese. I thought it was gross because you could easily see the cooked egg. I'm not a great egg lover. I like it made with cheese added to a white sauce so it's very creamy, and no eggs.
