I’m sick of cooking. We have a lot of tomatoes from our garden. I make a no cook pasta sauce. The tomatoes are par boiled and cut up. Olive oil, lots of fresh garlic lots of fresh basil and parsley and salt. Mix in a non metal bowl. Cover and let set for two to four hours. The only thing to cook is the pasta. We love this.CD7B10AE-30E6-4DFF-9CCC-5EBE3CD180A5.jpeg

That sounds heavenly. And your tomatoes are beautiful!

Re: When you don't feel like cooking

When my husband and I are home alone, we look for simple fix meals.   Our go-to favorites are; BLT's, chicken, ham, or tuna salad sandwiches, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, country ham biscuits, or chef salads.

@jeanlake  I’m lucky my husband is so easy when it comes to food. He likes everything. Whatever I fix is okay with him. We love turkey, cheese and rye bread grilled. Love left over pizza.

Re: When you don't feel like cooking

Green salads are my go-to fill in, usually the chef's style or if there's no meat to add (and I'm off red meat now) I add canned tuna.

Tonight we went to McDonalds.  Not a favorite but one of the few here with a drive up window.  I had a double fish filet which made it more substantial.  Their fish is pretty good.

I'm very tired of my own cooking, too.  Those fresh home grown tomatoes look sooo good!!!  A plate of sliced 'maters with a little mayo would make a good dinner for me.

A smoothie of favorite ingredients with something like avocado on toast would be a good meal, too.

Re: When you don't feel like cooking

I am home by myself most week nights, so I don't always feel like cooking.  My go-to dinners are pasta with sauteed spinach, garlic, olive oil, and locatelli; spinach omelet; salad with homemade dressing, or a scrambled or poached egg with spinach on an English muffin.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

@Free2be  I totally get it. Sometimes I don’t care  who cooks what.   I just want something to eat.

When I don't feel like cooking I either order in or go out to outside dining.

Sandwiches--turkey, chicken, ham, tuna, egg salad, etc. for easy/ cold meals or baked potatoes in the microwave are easy if you want something hot. We also have cereal and toast for dinner once in a while. Or just microwave some popcorn, have some fruit with it and call it dinner!!
