When you bring home fresh veggies..

... do you put them into the crisper drawer in their bags and bunches, or do you do something to prepare them - wash, cut, put into containers, etc?

They go right in the drawer.

I take them out of whatever bag they were in and put them in one of those Debbie Meyer Green Bags.  I know a lot of people don't care for them but I find they keep my produce fresh much longer than if I put them in a plastic bag or container.

I put them in the green bags too. And I so agree that I have read alot of bad things about the bags but they work 100% for me. I don't wash my produce until I actually use it and I also put in a sheet of paper towel in them,  to soak up the moisture that does accumulate in the bags. I change the paper towels out every few days. I can honestly say that I have had iceberg lettuce stay fresh and crisp for 3 weeks at least.I also have a few of the green boxes that work well too.

I use Debbie Meyer green bags too. I also use the Bluapple balls that I found at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They absorb ethylene gases and keeps fruits and vegetables fresher longer.

Can I ask, do you refrigerate all your produce?  In the stores they keep some of the items at room temperature.  I put my veggies in the frig but fruit I leave out.

Yes thank you for mentioning having a paper towel in with the produce @wagirl as I think this really helps the effectiveness of the bags.

I also have a lot of her containers and think they work well too!

I do the very same @Winkk, veggies in the fridge and fruit in a bowl on the counter.

@Winkk

The fruit that needs to ripen, like pears, bananas, peaches, I don't refridgerate.  Apples, oranges and other citrus fruits I keep in the fridge.

Thanks all for your responses. I get frustrated with veggies going bad in the fridge. Maybe I need to try the green bags.

I use Debbie Meyers "green bags" for all of my produce. They work and last!
