We have been away & had a wonderful visit with relatives.  Getting pizza & salad for dinner.  Off to the grocery tomorrow!

It is so hot & humid here like everywhere else it seems!  Stay cool!  Have a good evening.

I've been gone all day!  I left around 8:00 and got home around 4:30.  It almost felt like a workday again.  DD & DSIL are buying their first house and moving in next week.  I picked up DD this morning and took her on a shopping spree for bathroom decor & towels, kitchen towels, ironing board and iron, down comforter, throw blankets, extra set of bed sheets, living room and bedroom lamps.  I let her make all the decisions except for some bathroom towels at Target where I put my foot down.  One bath towel was $30!  I said that wasn't happening and she chose something else.  We had a good day 😊

We never stopped for lunch so when I got home I pulled a frozen grass fed burger patty from the freezer. I made a bacon cheeseburger with extra bacon. I tried something new that I just bought.  Wilde Spicy Protein Chips.  Believe it or not, they're made from chicken.  They were good but I can only do 1/3-1/2 of the serving size.

Now it's time to relax.

Re: Whats cooking this july?

Good evening everyone. Jeanloisefrench that was nice of you to take your dd for new stuff for there new house. The 30 dollar towel thing made me laugh and reminded me of like 12 years ago in Kmart I was buying towels and I was going to buy Sophia vagara bath towels and I think they were about 30 bucks then I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a towel. When I got home I told my wife that I almost payed for towels she said I was nuts if I spent that much. I ended up buying cannon brand towels for 10 bucks. Had breakfast treats this morning. My brother was coming over for lunch so I made pasta

, sausage, broccoli rabe with cavatopi pasta, I made dog food and for dinner I made beef chowmain With ground hamburger, celery and mushrooms and served it over rice and had grapes and for dessert! Had a strawberry shortcake bar and ria had a granola bar. Have a great night everyone.

@JeanLouiseFinch   Wow, that's fun!  Congrats to them on their new home. I know, some days feel like a workday!  I usually get my towels at Macys. I'm really out of touch if some Target towels are $30.  Yikes.  I usually get Charter Club or Martha towels.  On sale, plus a Macys coupon.

I'm making a meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and probably steamed broccoli for today.  The meatloaf is in the oven now.  So hot here still.

Stay cool and safe friends.

Re: Whats cooking this july?

We have a house guest and last night I served marry-me chicken with penne pasta and a side of green beans.

Tonight I made pastrami and Swiss panini with garden salad.

Tomorrow we are having lunch out, so for a lite dinner I'll be making the Italian Wedding Soup with Chicken meatballs recipe that I posted on the recipe forum a few days ago.

House guest leaves Thursday, so we'll be having leftovers for the next two nights until it starts over with different guests.  Sigh....

Re: Whats cooking this july?

DH and I came back from our walk and I mentioned not feeling like what I had planned.  Fortunately it was still semi frozen so I stuck it back in the freezer.  DH and I ended up winging it.  He made a plate of stick sausage pieces, chunk of cheese, and Wilde chips.. I made a scrambled egg, spinach, and cottage cheese bowl with S, P, and Tapatio, and leftover broccoli.  Then I had a zero sugar yogurt.

Re: Whats cooking this july?

I marinated boneless chicken breast in Italian dressing & grilled that to sliced over tossed salad.  Had dinner rolls & super sweet watermelon.

This heat & humidity make it hard to think about cooking. Just about ready to move on to fall & winter meals!

Re: Whats cooking this july?

I'm not going to be home when DH and I usually walk so I went alone at 5:45 this morning.  It was already hot out there.  I made us breakfast this morning - scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon bits for him and a scrambled egg and cottage cheese bowl for me. I reheated some leftover broccoli too.  I'm meeting my old girlfriends for lunch and plan to have an entree size antipasto salad so I needed some additional protein this morning.  We'll be at a well known pizza place so I'll bring home a small pizza for DH.
