Re: Whats cooking this december?

Tonight will be meatball bombers, coleslaw and potato chips. Chocolate chip cookies ( from a neighbor ) and vanilla ice cream.

Slowly but surely we'll be working our way to more healthy eating 😉.

Have a good evening!

Re: Whats cooking this december?

My ear is doing much better this morning.  I'm still on the drops until the middle of next week.

A couple of weeks ago, in a moment of weakness, I fell for an add that kept repeating on Facebook.  If was for a Japanese styled chef knife. I ordered one for each of our kids families and one for us, plus the leather sheaths to protect them.  Let me tell you, those things traveled on the craziest trip to get here.  Yes, they started in China, which I didn't know at first because my detail said Jamaica, NY. They went through various places in China, hung around in NYC for a few days, got within two hours from me, but then went to a locstion in Illinois for a couple of days before getting transferred to my local post office.  Unfortunately they didn't get here in time for Christmas.  They arrived yesterday, the package was a little beat up.  Upon examination, they all seem to be OK, very sharp.  I'll be able to deliver them all today and tomorrow.  I'm glad they weren't a main gift, just an extra.  I haven't tried mine yet.  It's supposed to be able to slice a tomato paper thin.  I'll try that tomorrow.  🤷‍♀️

Today we're going to our grandson's hockey game.  Then we're going up to our oldest's.  We decided to take down our crib and donate it.  There aren't going to be anymore babies in our family.  There's a coworker who could use the crib so we're bringing it up there.  We'll go out for pizza and salad together.

Re: Whats cooking this december?

Last night I made a "creamy chicken bake" recipe that I got here on the forum at one point.  I wish I could remember who posted it, but it was one of the regulars on the food forum.  It's a winner and it makes enough for us to have chicken sandwiches the following night, which is what we're doing tonight.

I have my granddaughter here until New Year's Day and I anticipate being exhausted on Thursday.

Chicken salad sandwiches and pasta salad.  We had croissants for the chicken salad. Yum.

Re: Whats cooking this december?

Not sure which of my kids will be here for dinner tonight, so I prepared three small meatloaves.  If we only need one or two, I'll freeze the rest.  In addition, mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.

Re: Whats cooking this december?

We're having some crazy weather for December.  Yes, we have already had some cold days but no snow accumulation and now we're back to the mid 40's and rain.  It won't get to freezing or below until late in the week.  I guess I should be grateful, and I kinda am, but it feels weird.

I ordered a new kitchen trash can from Walmart yesterday and did the curbside pickup on the way home last night.  I ordered a sympathy card from Amazon and it's coming today.  So easy.  The other day we were talking about brick & mortar stores closing and I can see why.

DS and the kiddos are back today.  I'm making breakfast for dinner -

Bacon

Amylu Breakfast Sausage

Scrambled Eggs

Low Carb French Toast w/Butter and KF Syrup

Berries
