Re: Whats cooking this august?

Happy August!

Aside from garlic toast for breakfast and a PB sandwich, I made a fresh cherry yougurt parfait for lunch and I'll probably do chickpea pasta with olive oil and parmesan for dinner.

Have a good weekend all!

Our week here is over.

Sheets & pillowcases are in the dryer.  Then I'll do all the towels.  DH said not to bother washing our clothes here.  I can do that tomorrow.  We polished off what was left of the bacon and had a couple more eggs.  The ladies weren't as generous this time as they were on our last visit.  That time we were here 3-4 days and took home 8 dozen.  This time, though we've eaten some, we're only taking home 6 dozen for the week. 🤷‍♀️

We aren't in a rush to get out of here too quickly.  We still have a few apples for the horses.  We're waiting for them to come over, they're far away on the other side of the pasture.  We'll have lunch, straighten up the kitchen, and take off.

Lunch -

Tossed salad w/grilled chicken

Zero Sugar Yogurt

Re: Whats cooking this august?

Did sunnyside egg and toast this morning, crackers and protein milk for a snack, and then a pita with provolone and cucumbers for lunch with granny smith apple slices and peanut butter.

Not sure about dinner yet, but it's been a nice day. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

Re: Whats cooking this august?

We made it home yesterday afternoon.  DH found an alternate route through backroads and it was quite nice.  We actually made a little better time too.  DH got outside soon after we unpacked so he could mow the lawn.  The cats are happy to see us and we’re happy to see them.  They won’t leave us alone.  I would love to stay home to watch church online and be lazy with the cats the rest of the day but we have to run out for a couple of errands. I need a few groceries and have a UPS drop off that I couldn't do last week.  We’re home for a few days and back on the go again at the end of the week.

I had my coffee this morning but am feeling so full that I think I’ll fast today.  Last night DH said he didn’t want to eat much today either.

Today we are going to have grilled strip steak, salt potatoes, and broccoli. Watermelon for later. Temperatures are going to start going up again this week. Hope it doesn't get as humid as it has been. Have a great day all.

Re: Whats cooking this august?

Supper will be simple, grilled marinated chicken breast and a salad.

Lunch was hot ham and cheese sandwiches.  I only had a half sandwich due to this pesky diabetes.  1/2 a sandwich roll.

Holy cow, I miss carbs.
