Re: Whats cooking in this new month of march?

I am getting a pedicure this afternoon then I am headed to Old Navy to pick up a pair of jeans I purchased on line yesterday for only 12.00.  I hope they fit.  I am going to try them on right at the store so I can return them if they don't.

After that I am picking up Pad Tai for dinner.

On this week's grocery list is chicken marsala; corned beef potatoes and cabbage; fresh linguine and rosemary balsamic marinated pork tenderloin.

Re: Whats cooking in this new month of march?

My single youngest son made his first attempt at tomato sauce yesterday.  He cooked it with pork and chicken....like his Mama.

He brought me a large container of it, so I made homemade spaghetti today.  It is on the rack drying.  I also made meatballs and they are cooking in his sauce right now.

I also made a large everything but the kitchen sink salad, Italian bread and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Right now I am sitting down taking a break. He is coming over for dinner tonight.

Re: Whats cooking in this new month of march?

Good evening everyone. You and Carmie have made Some fantastic meals. That kind of food is my favorite kind of food and I'm sure its all delicious. Its good I'm eating dinner now or I would be starving just reading about your dinners. It was a nice day today and tomorrow but tomorrow night and all Monday we could get around three inches of rain.I had cereal for breakfast and ria didn't want anything. Anna made escarole and beans,  chicken with artichokes, broccoli rab, French fries, Italian bread and grapes. And now for dinner were having leftover egg rolls. This coming week I plan on starting veggies and flowers from seeds. Have a great weekend everyone.

My husband made his annual batch of corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef was so tender and good. He is talking about making another batch when this batch is finished. Shouldn't take long to finish this batch. The corned beef is over half finished in the first meal.

[ Edited ]

I forgot to tell you about our moving experience the other day.  It came off without a hitch.  We rented a furniture mover on wheels from UHaul plus our own dolly that made getting the furniture into the truck easier, but there was still some lifting involved.  We did good for a couple of old people and no sore bodies afterwards.  At our son's house, the two men carried the couch and loveseat in and placed it.  DS is very happy, and we have our garage space back!

Yesterday was a great day.  Dinner out was delicious.  We each had birria tacos and a spicy dipping sauce.  We ordered some Brussels sprouts that turned out to be really sweet, so I know there was some kind of sugar in them.  The description on the menu was a bit misleading.  We ate them anyway rather than to blow $14.

I finally got my bins ordered, for my freezer organization.   Tuesday will be our warmest day of the week so I'm planning to do the defrosting that day.

DH is eating light today as he has a medical test in the morning and needs to be cleaned out.  I switched my fasting day to today.

Re: Whats cooking in this new month of march?

Snowing like crazy here. Temp is 29, wind chill 21. Cooking a pot of chili for dinner tonight. Along with toppings & corn muffins it'll be a good comfort meal.

Tomorrow will be simmering a flat cut corned beef. We don't really care for boiled cabbage so we'll have coleslaw and potato salad instead.

I agree with @Pooky1 about all the delicious food here. Like a virtual pot luck!

I agree about all the delicious food posted here it all sounds so good , it’s ball season starting for our grandchildren now so I will be making quick meals or crock pot meals for awhile
We went to an event today , they served a big lunch
when we got home we couldn’t think of anything we wanted to eat tonight so I just made steak quesadillas for supper , no sides since since we wasn’t hungry
Have a nice night everyone and great coming week

Re: Whats cooking in this new month of march?

DH has an MRI first thing this morning.  We may do an errand or two afterwards or put them off until tomorrow afternoon.  I thought we might stay out and get a late breakfast somewhere but we decided we can just do that at home.

Today's Menu -

Small Ribeye Steak

Eggs

Either Roasted Asparagus or Roasted Brussels Sprouts
