Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

We had Chinese take out last night.  We usually share an entree and each get an egg roll.  I will make a taco dip, and we will have roasted red pepper hummus, cheese and crackers for Super Bowl tonight.  Maybe a mini charcuterie board.  I may make a pot of chili for early in the week.

We will enjoy the game, commercials, and football food!

Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

Good morning everyone. We got about 4 inches of snow last night. Could be some sun later.  We had lunch with Anna yestauday. She made pasta with broccolesi rob, broccoli rob plain, steak, French fries and Italian bread and clementines. I made a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread yesterday morning. I had some cheddar cheese for snack yesterday afternoon. Last night we just had clementines. I did 3 loads of laundry yesterday. I just had a piece of cinnamon bread toasted with butter. I always love snow but my wife hated it and can't see how anyone can like snow so basically I don't enjoy snow anymore .have a great day everyone.

Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

Good morning all.  We planned for our son and his family to visit today but their little guy is under the weather with fever, congestion, and croup.  I made some home treatment suggestions but really think he needs a breathing treatment.  I have a feeling they'll be taking him to an urgent care or ER this morning and will be laying low the rest of the day.  Poor kid. ☹️

Today I'm making:

Chicken Florentine

Either Roasted Asparagus or Steamed Broccoli

Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

Later I will be making a pot of chili.  It's been a rough week.  My grandson I spoke of in my last post came down with the flu, thankfully the baby did not.  My DD, her husband and 14 month old daughter has the flu.  Tuesday I spent the morning at Medcheck and tested positive as well.  What a great vacation!  Not!  I hunkered down in the spare bedroom and did my best to stay away from DH.  So far he has been ok.  I had to go to four pharmacy's to find Tamiflu.  At the last Walgreens didn't have it I said to heck with it  because I didn't have the energy to drive anymore.  The dr I saw gave me a paper Rx and said "good luck". I did get shot so Iwill leave it at that!

I am suppose to go back to work tomorrow and I'm not sure.

My oldest son and oldest grandbaby seem to be ok.

@Pooky1  you all sure have gotten your share of snow!   I am with Ria on the snow, it's pretty for like two seconds.  I totally understand her feelings.  Is she feeling better?

Stay safe and healthy everyone!  I'm sure DH will watch the Super Bowl.  I have zero interest but do hope the Eagles win.  Have a good day everyone!

@2sisters Hope everyone feels better soon and no one else gets sick.  In my state, Delaware, the flu and Norovirus are running rampant.  My co-worker had an upset stomach and stayed home Thursday and Friday.  Another co-worker sprayed the whole office down with Lysol.

Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

We had the Super Bowl on yesterday.  I used to be a big football fan but stopped watching the NFL when the kneeling junk started.  That seems to have run its course so DH wanted to watch.  It was background noise for me, didn't pay too much attention, but watched a few plays.  I missed most of the commercials too.  Unintentionally, I did see the horrendous halftime show.  It was the worst ever, IMO.

I’m seeing my dental hygienist for my six month checkup this morning.  Hopefully there aren’t any surprises.  DH is eating the leftover lasagna for lunch.  It’s Fasting Monday for me.  I am kinda mad at myself.  I forgot yesterday afternoon and had a few pecans, so I got started later than I had planned.  I’ll only get to 43 hours this time but that's still very beneficial.

Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

  • Good afternoon everyone. Jeanloisefrench I would gladly eat your leftover lasagna. today was bright and sunny. Yestauday for dinner Anna made the most delicious meal. She made a white garlic pizza, string beans, a big pan of sauce and meatballs and rigatoni pasta, stuffed eggplant, Italian bread, clementines and grapes. And I made cinnamon raisin bread .I took half downstairs with us and ria and I had a piece of toasted cinnamon bread last night. I cleaned and separated 2 family packs of chicken breasts. It was on sale for 1.99 a pound. I prepped peach French toast for this mornings breakfast. I had a friend that work with and she was my deli manager a few times in Shaw's supermarket and I made another cinnamon raisin bread for her to take home plus I sent her home with some French toast. I made a big pan of chicken and rice soup for tonight's dinner and a couple more meals. The end of the week for valentines day and for Thursday I'm going to make baked  stuffed shrimp and baked stuffed lobster tails. Have a great night everyone.

Re: Whats cooking in this month of february?

@2sisters I hope you and your family are feeling better with the flu
It’s sooo weird my husband and I both came down with the flu at almost the exact same time Thursday night
It’s been awful I don’t recall ever being this sick
We’ve been unable to eat much I’ve lost over 12 lbs since Thursday
Tonight my daughter picked up a few things from the store
And brought over Chinese food , won ton soup and moo goo gai pan for me , something spicy for my husband, I’ve been nauseous so I didn’t look at it closely to see what his food was
We each ate the soup and a saucer of the entrees and rice
It was sooo nice this weekend we opened the windows every day to hopefully get the germs out
Take care everyone and have a nice day tomorrow
