Under a winter weather warning, expecting 8-12" of the white stuff.

Will be making cranberry meatballs, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, and an apple walnut salad.

Please say safe if you under weather advisories.

@RetRN   Could you share the cranberry meatball recipe?  Sounds so good.

Re: Whats cooking in november?

DH and I had our walk in the snow, but not a very long one.  I broke in my new snow boots. They kept my feet warm and my steps secure...until I momentarily wasn't paying attention.  I slipped and fell, coming down square on my knee.  I stayed there on all fours for a minute assessing the situation and was able to get up and continue.  I'm always concerned about falling because I need to protect my neck (had C5 & C6 fused several years ago).  I purposely lean forward slightly so I'll go down like I did rather than falling backwards.  The knee hurt a little but no damage.  As we made our way back home I hit another slippery spot and looked like I was doing some crazy dance move.  That one jarred my hip but I didn't go down!  The funny thing is that I've been dealing with some back strain in my ribs for the last couple of years.  I manage it with massages and a monthly chiropractic adjustment.  It never goes away completely but it's improved temporarily.  When I got up from the fall I felt like I might have fixed something in my back. 😄 It's still a little achy but not like usual.  We'll see what happens there.  🤷‍♀️

The snow continued all day til about 1:00AM.  DH cleared the driveway and front sidewalk a few times, to keep up with it.  We ended up with about 9.5-10".  It's supposed to start up again around 10:00 but will be short lived with little accumulation.

Later this afternoon we're meeting DS's family at a tree lighting and then to Red Robin for supper.

@JeanLouiseFinch Hope you are ok!  Yesterday, I twisted something in my back.  Every so often, a big twinge.  Yikes.  I'll see how it goes a few days. It goes away, so I don't think a pinched nerve.  This getting old thing isn't good!  I did not fall, but it felt like my back gave out three times yesterday. We had some snow Thursday night, but no accumulation.  You've been hit a few times with snow already!  Good luck.

Dinner tonight, pirogies with fried onions and sour cream, and side salads.

Cranberry meatballs recipe:

1 can (14 oz.) jellied cranberry sauce

1 bottle (12 oz.) chili sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 pkg. (32 oz.) frozen meatballs

I whisk together the sauce and put in my crockpot, then add the frozen meatballs and cook on low.
