Re: Whats cooking for this month of july?

Baked potatoes topped with chili and pick your fave toppings: shredded cheese, chopped onions, olives, chopped peppers, sour cream, crushed Doritos. Fruit salad for dessert.

Hope you have a nice evening!

Re: Whats cooking for this month of july?

I had a cheese dog and baked beans on Saturday.  DH made chicken, rice and broccoli Sunday.

I am on my own tonight and tomorrow night.  DH is teaching tonight and he has a gig tomorrow night.

I am working per diem during the summer.  Most days will be part time.  Today I was home at noon so I had plenty of time to come up with something for dinner but I didn't.

@MOMMAVik

I hope your 50th anniversary celebration was fabulous! Happy to read your daughter was able to come and be with you and your hubby.

Your baked potato toppings sound so fun. Doritos!!! My Gosh, it's been years since I had Doritos. I can't remember which ones I bought....but it seems like they turned my fingers orange or red??? I do remember liking them. 😀

Re: Whats cooking for this month of july?

Another hot hot hot miserable day
We had two bell peppers out of our garden and a sweet banana pepper so I chopped them up and made a stuffed bell pepper casserole, green beans w/ potatoes cooked in them out of a neighbors garden , cucumbers & tomatoes out of our small garden , cornbread

@kate2357
Welcome back! You had a wonderful family vacation and I hope it was a bit of a restful one too! Always good to get away for a change of pace.

Thank you for the good wishes. DD had a nice visit. She and DS had a nice celebration for us. Too funny about the Doritos. The orange ones are Cheetos; DH is addicted to those & they are not allowed in this house!

@Shihtzursqmom

Your garden dinner sounds delicious!  I wish we had more of a garden.  We have tomatoes planted.  Used to do more but it was so hard to keep up with the weeding.  Maybe next summer 🌞.

Re: Whats cooking for this month of july?

I have some low carb tortillas and some diced grilled chicken so I am going to use them to make buffalo chicken wraps and also have a small bleu cheese wedge salad on the side.

Re: Whats cooking for this month of july?

Wish we had a garden, miss fresh picked veggies!
we haven't had good luck with tomato plants so dh gave up the veg garden!

nice to see @kate2357 home!

Someone had chili, so I'm making turkey chili over baked potatoes with toppings tonight. Dh made extra bakers Sunday so we just need to heat those in airfrier and chili is in crockpot-=easy!   I have a mini watermelon to slice up, so desert!

we are cool temps outside Seattle, but warming up as week moves on.  Stay cool and happy and healthy!

Re: Whats cooking for this month of july?

Tonight we're having a country dinner...my dad's favorite!  Soaked soup beans all night and got up early to put them in the crockpot.  Cornbread was also baked very early as to not heat up the house.  We'll also be having fried potatoes, homemade chow chow, and green onions.😃
