DH went to Costco yesterday and got a meat haul...

8lb - Brisket flat

17lb - NY loin

18lb - Ribeye loin

He'll be smoking the beef brisket over the holiday 3rd-4th...YUM! Smiley Very Happy

The 2 loins he'll be cutting up and we'll be vacuum sealing the steak slabs to put in the freezer...saves $$$.

I put a crock pot full of chili on a little while ago. It doesn't have to be winter for me to make chile or stews.

I'm with you @Meowingkitty  Weather doesn't affect what I want to eat.

I can sit in 90 degree heat and have a piping hot bowl of soup or drink hot coffee poolside. 😂

I made Philly Cheesesteak  empanadas with rice and beans yesterday.

None left over!

Yesterday was fried chicken.  Today, it's pork roast in the crockpot.  It's really hot and humid here too.  If I bake anything, it'll have to be done very early.😃❤️

It's going to hit 112 today with 58% humidity and there are pinto beans cooking in the crockpot. Mom will be making her cornbread for my father. We run the appliances early but these are our normal Desert temps so we adjust accordingly. Often times, it's cold salads and sandwiches as light smaller meals are better for our summer weather.

We had so much fun playing with our grandkids at the berry farm yesterday.  They had all kinds of activities for thr 3 yr. old; a bunch of little themed buildings where she could use her imagination, goats that we could feed, a couple different train rides, games, swings, slides, all kinds of stuff.   Our DDIL got a lot of pictures of us together.  Unfortunately I was wearing my sunglasses in most of them.  Oh well.

It was another early morning here for me.  I had an appointment and needed to be in the car before 7:00AM.  Sheesh, a few of those lately and it's felt like I was back on my work schedule again. I retired 14 yrs. ago!  I'm back home now.  We had such awful humidity, the end of last week.  I dare say, yesterday was downright chilly - quite a switch.  I bought some new Danskins stretchy leggings at Costco yesterday.  I wore a pair for my walk this morning.  On top I had a t-shirt AND a fleece hoodie.

Lunch today -

Faroe Island Salmon w/Creamy Lemon Dill Sauce

Oven Roasted Asparagus
