What was the main cookbook you started married life with?

Do you still have it?

I do, and still it's always been my reference book!

I have that cookbook but truly beat to death, well worn pages and spine.

Tho some of us were brave, struck out on our own and didn't wait for a man before buying cookbooks.

Received a Good Housekeeping Cookbook from a friend at work 30 years ago.

Still refer to it at times and thank Micky.

Mine was a wedding gift also. I still have it and my mom's as well. I love that she made little notes in hers .🙂The page with Ethel's sugar cookies was so worn out and frayed and taped....it was our absolute favorite sugar cookie that has now been THE holiday  must have for three generations now 😀

The Joy of Cooking (a copy over 50 years old), with a later updated version, and a paperback copy of the same.

A Good Housekeeping Cookbook, and a Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook.

My Mom then gave me her old copies of a Betty Crocker cookbook and a McCall's cookbook.

I have to laugh. I could have used one! Now there's a gift every bride-to-be should have, and for variety, more than one!!!

Re: What was the main cookbook you started married life with?

A friend of my sister's worked at Pillsbury so somehow she received some cookbooks and gave one to me.  For the longest time, I was a cookbook collector - enjoyed them as pleasure reading.  I still have several, but have gotten rid of a lot too.  It's so easy to find recipes online now that I hardly open a cookbook anymore.
