Do this! It works. Pour some white vinegar down your kitchen drain with baking soda. You will see and hear the drain fizzing with white bubbles. Don't rinse after, just leave it. I just got rid of annoying gnats in my kitchen a month or so ago. Someone told me to do this, and after trying the other suggestions, some of which are mentioned here, this was the only thing that did the trick. I do it every two weeks or so now. They lay eggs in the gunk in the drain so I'm told. I'm always a skeptic, but I couldn't believe it. Good luck.
