When the kids were little I had Christmas dishes we always used.  When we downsized a few years ago I gave those to DD.

Since then we use disposable.  It's easier to clean up.  I have some Santa plates for the grandkids.

I have one set of dishes and we typically are not disposable plates and eating utensils users.

We're having our Thanksgiving today.  I went the easy way and set our table with paper plates.  I can almost hear my deceased mother's distain.  She always used fine china for our holiday family dinners.  At least all of our glassware is a little nicer and they all match (except for our granddaughter's lidded cup. 🤷‍♀️

I have a boatload of  Longaberger Traditional Holly dishes, bakeware, and serving pieces.  DH and I will begin using them as our everyday stuff right before the end of the month and continue through early January.

@JeanLouiseFinch Beautiful!!!!!

Thank you, @Sooner  (and everyone who gave me hearts). I got my plates and napkins at Hobby Lobby.

@JeanLouiseFinch your table is beautiful

I have two sets of china , one is our set from when we got married the other was my MILs my FIL brought it
back from Korea when they got married while he was in the war
Those are in boxes in our attic I’ve given them to our daughter but she’s not interested in China
Ours is displayed in the china cabinet, we never use them

For Christmas I have a complete set of the night before Christmas china including serving bowls , platters , glassware that tells the story , the day after Thanksgiving I’ll set our DR table with those for the Christmas season
Along with all those dishes I have a LOT of Fiestaware I’ve collected for years including red and green I use along with the Christmas story china

All that to say when it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas meals I’ve already purchased disposable plates and cups 🫣 at Costco for both meals
There’s 14 in our immediate family not including guests , that’s a lot of dishes to deal with by the time the foods ready and I’ve cleaned as I’ve cooked I’m exhausted
Having dirty dishes after the meal is the last thing I want to deal with
The day before Christmas I’ll pack the night before Christmas china up and store it until next year
we used to use it before our family grew so large for our Christmas meals
Everyone that comes in to our home loves the table display and so do I so it’s worth putting out every year 🎄

I use the same dinnerware I always use, which is Corelle. I'm much more interested in the food that's ON the plates than the PLATES the food is on. I couldn't care less about having expensive dinnerware or silverware. No one yet has refused to eat the food I've prepared because it wasn't served on fancy dinnerware.
