Re: What's with the paper plate prices?

Growing up my Dad worked at a company that made paper plates, cups, napkins, even crepe paper. Christmas theme, Thanksgiving, birthday etc.

There were always seconds, stuff that they wouldn't sell in retail. Small color issues etc.  Nothing noticeable to me.

The employees could buy big boxes for a dollar or 2.  We always had boxes of plates and napkins.

You got what they had, we might be using Thanksgiving plates in March, but for a couple bucks for a 20lb. box who cared.

Wish I  had some now.

We buy all our paper plates from Sams online.  We buy the Sams house brand and they are very inexpensive.  If you are a plus member shipping is free ( usually arrives in 2 days); they really ought to advertise this benefit ( nobody I've mentioned it to seems to know about it).  We buy all our detergent, paper products and case lots this way.

Sam's club has large oval ones. 50 in package, for around $8.00.  They have different patterns.....summer, 4th of July, etc.

Instead of my usual gripe, I have something positive to say about Walgreen's.  They had the larger size decorated plates on special this week, came to 11 sents per plate.  Our Super One literally has not had them for over a year.  We live in a retail wasteland.

Wow! Save a tree, do NOT use paper plates! Who one earth uses paper plates regularly? I care too much for our environment.

Really @ID2 ????

If we don't use paper plates, then someone will complain that we're wasting water washing dishes!   Can't win!

I received 100 8" Great Value Paper Plates delivery, just as good as Dixie for $5.86.  For one person, I have many uses and will last me a good long time. Smiley Happy

Do we really need paper plates?  Not being judgmental, just thinking out loud.

@PilatesLover  No, not everyone does, but some do. It's that way with most things.
