Re: What's on your countertop?

My counter and kitchen table all have 'stuff' on them. I use the stuff that I have out. KA mixer, pressure cooker, Vitamix, food processor. Then canisters for flours/sugars. Knife block.

DH has a toaster that he uses once in a blue moon. I would love to move that out. I often have bread proofing, kefir growing and a sourdough starter going-so they take up room, and they can't be too close to each other.

Forget cookie jars-I've broken the lids on every one I've ever had. Cookies go in a plastic container!

Re: What's on your countertop?

Like so many others, I probably have way too much out on the counter. However, every bit of it is used just about every day. I don't have anything there just to look artsy-fartsy.

Re: What's on your countertop?

Hmm, on one end a phone, address book and letter organizer rack thingy. On the other end a dish rack, knife sharpener, toaster and spoon trivet.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

Re: What's on your countertop?

A reminder to me to declutter, as I "feel" better with the minimal look! {#emotions_dlg.blush} I have a fairly good sized kitchen.

Flanking the stove, have knife rack and upright cutting boards, so it's pretty open. Other side has two utensil holders (darn shallow drawers, where a spatula gets the drawer stuck!) with salt cellar/pepper grinder and oil bottle.

The opposite counter is what's out of control: Bunn coffee maker and grinder (DH's territory! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}), drainer rack (yeah, I hand wash some stuff), electric can opener, KA mixer, paper towel holder and a spot for pens and grocery list - the clutter begins with the Ninja, two food processors and accessories (mini and regular). (Those are used often enough to save DH's bad back - he likes to cook - but not used enough to me to take up counter space.)

Thank goodness for our origami cart (best purchase ever!) It's the "command" center when using the WP Versacooker, electric pressure cooker, rotisserie, rolling out dough, prepping.

Re: What's on your countertop?

Not very much...I don't like cluttered counters or a line of appliances. I have a Cuisinart coffee maker, three antique-looking glass jars with frosted lids to keep oats, sugar and flour, and in another corner a pretty tiered cake plate. I like the counters open and clean, when I need an appliance I take it out then put it away when I am done.

Re: What's on your countertop?

I have an odd designed kitchen. I have a seperate section of cabinets almost freestanding, on that counter top I have my Bose and an antique cheese box with CDs' and a wine rack. On the other side I have a Keurig and coffee pod carosel, then the sink. Then a paper towel holder, then further down a Longaberger fruit basket, in the corner an antique coffee mill and old Fiesta ware trivet in an easel. Beside the stove a Logaberger basket in a wrought iron stand with a lid and a Longaberger utinsel basket , other side of the stove a toaster. That is it, I love ould stuff!

Re: What's on your countertop?

I hate clutter but have to admit I struggle keeping it contained. When all is clear I have a Keurig (hubby and son) and toaster on one side of oven, my Braun (mine) on the other side of oven with ceramic garlic holder, knife block and pie stand (2 tier)hold bread products then Brita water pitcher next to sink, behind sink (triangle area) is a picture of my springers family(dogs called litter or pack) her brother and sisters and a plant in terrarium. On other side of sink is blender and vitamins. On the last bit of peninsula is the key dish and paper towel holder. But that end of the peninsula is the toss and go area. Right now it has papers, empty pot, sunglasses, honey, bananas, cell phonesss, remote for tv, money, etc. We have a horseshoe shape and it works great for small kitchen, about10x10 (not counting table area that is on other side of counter.) Pantry is not included either, on adjacent wall.

Re: What's on your countertop?

I keep my toaster and canisters in the cupboard and my knives on a magnet strip that's attached to the wall above the counter next to the stove.

A juicer.

...and a coffee maker and a toaster that haven't been used in months...
