Re: What's cooking this July in your kitchen?

Had a good dinner tonight. Broccoli, mashed potatoes and in the slow cooker had chicken breasts, HUGE sweet onion and peppered gravy. The gravy did not go in until the last hour and it was so very good. Used that delicious oil start cooking the chicken and onion  I used a week or so ago also. Very very good.

Filled my bird feeders, trimmed the sad rose bushes and raked up a zillion pine needles from the fir trees NEXT door - hate those needles and also zapped a few goathead stickers growing out back. That rain pushed quite a few of them up but I got them before the goatheads had really bad horns. No pun intended.

Hard to walk in my once gorgeous lawns - With the rain we had and I wish we had more, it played havoc on the yard due to the many gopher and ground squirrel holes - very hard to keep my balance and had to be really careful. I just wish so much we could have things nice again. Sigh Cat LOL Now to be honest it was horribly uneven before the rains but the ground also got a bit squshy.

Soushi, where are you? Also want to know where everyone else has disappeared to - you are missed.

Hope all ate well today!!!

WEll I am really ticked now. I cannot find any of the three threads I post on regularly - was fine yesterday. I have to go to the search field and locate them - I find them but when I go out of the thread and look at all in that area, i.e. Among Friends, Kitchen, they are not there. Only the threads I post on. What on earth is going on? I found this the same way. Does this make any sense. Nope, I may have had a miserable night as far as sleep goes but am not completely insane at this point. LOL.

Betty, just keeping you company here in the Kitchen.

Re: What's cooking this July in your kitchen?

Morning all,

Another beaufiful day here in Indiana. We have sunshine, no rain for a few more days, and low humidity (and this also for a few more days) Life is good!

Have Mahjong here today a 1:00 then DH's golfing buddies, two of them, will be coming for dinner. One of the fellows is going to do some things around the house that need a ladder. Payment is dinner, all he would accept.

So I am trying to make snacks and things for dinner too. Baked an Amish Cream Pie and Lemon Bars last night at 9:00.

The lemon bars are interesting. Only two ingredients, can of lemon pudding and a box of lemon cake mix. Mix together, bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

Very moist, with a pudding like center. Could dust with powdered sugar or frost. I didn't have canned pudding, so I made pudding with lemon instant pudding mix. Used 2 boxes and then mixed with the dry cake mix.

Dinner for the guys will be Little Cheddar Meatloaf by request from DH, fresh green beans with bacon and onion, cheese potatoes, sliced tomatoes. Of course choice of desserts.

Hope all is well, anyone, please join us. We aren't a closed group....far from it. Would love to hear from anyone. Come to chat.

Winifred, if you float the threads you frequent to the top, you will never have to search for them again. Smiley Happy

Mousie, there was something obviously very wrong. The threads I posted on were no where = could only find them by searching and when I closed them they disappeared. NOW for some weird reason, they all are back. I give up but at least I can find them. Thanks for your help - sure was strange.

Be back in a while - I hope!!

Hit the wrong button so had to edit.  Another beautiful day in Indiana.   We got good news yesterday. Our great granddaughters eyesight improved from 20/300 in left eye to 20/60.  She'll have another follow up in dec. the goal is 20/40. We were thrilled  couldn't have wished for a better birthday gift.  We celebrated by going to Steak and Shake and getting a milkshake with sprinkles

Freddie we don't have a trader joes here but if we did I would certainly pick up some of those nests that you always rave about.  Sounds good
