Re: What's cooking this January?

I'm still recovering from the weekend. I fell asleep while watching tv lastnight. This morning, DH said I was out hard. I still feel kind of wiped out. It seems I'm not bouncing back as easily as when I was younger. Fortunately we still have stuff to pick from the fridge.  And guess what?  I found a Chicken Bacon Ranch Caserole in the freezer that was supposed to go to DS but got overlooked. That's lunch tomorrow and Thursday and we will really do a shopping trip Thursday afternoon.

Re: What's cooking this January?

I had my second gum graft (the first was in June) this morning.  I will be on a soft food diet for the next 6 weeks.  Also since the graft was on a lower front tooth I can't bite through foods with my front teeth.  For the next 48 hours I can't have anything hot so tonight I am having tuna salad and DH is going to get me some coffee ice cream.

I was supposed to go to work tomorrow but I have to ice and take pain medication regularly for the next 48 hours so I will go back Thursday.

@ninjawife

I'm sorry you have to endure that, but it is sweet that your DH is going to get you your favorite ice cream.

Feel better soon.

Re: What's cooking this January?

I made teriyaki chicken,  white rice and broccoli.
@Pooky1  yes thank you for starting this month.

@ninjawife I hope the time goes quick for you.  I'm not sure I could eat soft foods.  But I could do the ice cream.

Another grey blah day here.  I can take the cold but sure would love to see the sun.

Have a good evening everyone.

Re: What's cooking this January?

I am feeling pretty good. Much better than when I had the last graft done.  This one was a smaller graft. I am swollen but no brusing as I was told to expect.  Still can't have hot foods.  Yogurt for breakfast, White bean salad for lunch and tuna salad for dinner.  I still have some ice cream as well.

[ Edited ]

Stir fried chicken with carrots, broccoli, onion & pineapple chunks. Sprinkling in cashews & served over brown rice. I have a bottled sweet & sour sauce to mix in.

I am working on planning menus before heading to the grocery. Our ads come out today. Hopefully they might provide some inspiration! A bit tired of cooking!

Have a good evening. Cold & wind chills but better than how it could be this time of year.

Wishing @ninjawife to feel better soon.
