What’s cooking in October 2023?

@Pooky1  I hope it's ok that I start the October thread.  I promise, I'm not trying to take over. I just thought you were probably busy and couldn't get to it.

[ Edited ]

I had my dental appointment today for my healing collar.  They numbed me up, but not enough.  When he began to work I immediately felt pain in the palette so he shot me there a few times. All was good when he resumed. He decided that a tissue punch would be less traumatic than cutting and stitching. I could hear noise but didn't feel a thing.  His assistant said it looks good. I return in two weeks for impressions,  That means I'm getting close to being done with the whole process.  Dr. Google said I'd need to eat soft foods so that what I planned to do today with random things from the fridge. The dental assistant said I could eat anything I wanted. 🤷‍♀️

Tomorrow I'll eat normally. :

Hard Cooked Eggs w/dollops of Woeber's Horseradish Sauce (technically not KF, but I only use a small amount)

Creamy Mashed Cauliflower w/Kerrygold Butter, S & P

Cottage Cheese

Chia Pudding w/Strawberries

KF Blueberry Lemon Scone

Re: What’s cooking in October 2023?

Well DH never went to the store last Thursday to buy salmon and steak but we did buy these items during our weekly grocery shopping trip this weekend.  So tonight I making salmon with roasted grape tomatoes and capers.  DH and DD will season their salmon differently and we will all have green beans with it.

Busy day, so just going to whip up clam chowder. Have sourdough bread to go with the chowder. Apples for dessert.

Made a pizza from a pizza dough ball I took out of the freezer this morning.  Used Raos pizza sauce pepperoni and onion with a salad.  An easy meal after a crazy work day.

Have a good evening everyone!

DH & DS had a nice catch of salmon today. I place the fillets on a sprayed foil lined sheet pan and brush them with bbq sauce. Top with thin sliced onions and grill. Serving with rice & green beans.

Fruit salad of canteloupe, watermelon & strawberries for dessert.

Enjoy the evening. I hope your weather's nice as ours is!

Re: What’s cooking in October 2023?

Good evening everyone and Jeanlouisefinch not a problem. I totally forgot about it. Until I was coming on now and I saw October. I have been busy all day. This whole week is going to be beautiful out. I made a big pan on thing and rice soup and vanilla cupcakes with buttercreme  frosting. I went to get powdered sugar and I was short by 4 cups.I googled it and for every cup of granulated sugar add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and put it in the food processor or blender. It worked really well. Have a great day everyone and Jeanlouisefinch thank you for starting this lovely month of October. Have a great week.
