Actually, that style of chair was quite popular in the mid- to late 1950s (and well beyond), inspired by the Danish modern and similar movements. Look up the "Model 3107 chair," sometimes just called the "7 chair," which was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955. He is said to have based the chair on works by the renowned Eames Office. The original chairs can be found in museums around the world and have been copied by generation after generation.

I just love refrigerators that are decorative only, and can't possibly be used.
It's very pretty, and the appliance color scheme is really great.
Oh, and that space-age Jetson technology microwave is anachronistic.
