Re: What's Cooking this November - Thanksgiving Time

[ Edited ]

Yesterday no formal dinner. Was busy getting kids clean, naps, gathering up Davey's Dad and little sister to take them back to San Bernardino and other activities. Had just enough frozen dinners to handle their rumbling tummies. LOL. Crashed early last night, Ricky was fell asleep in his chair while eating and he  - so far - slept the night thru. Little girl woke up again about midnight, she has done that now for about 3 nights running and I find that strange. She does go back to sleep but she normally sleeps the night thru. And my legs have really bothered me for several nights running - am up about every hour or so - miserable.

Now as a new day approaches need to think about dinner??????? Probably will have spaghetti. Dread it in about 2 hours as I must wake both little ones and put them in the car to take Davey to school - just me so cannot leave them here - their grandmother zipped last night.

Very chilly right now but suppose to get quite warm again - that's fine with me - it is not sultry hot and it has been really nice.Have a great day everyone.

Re: What's Cooking this November - Thanksgiving Time

Well of course I did not have spaghetti. Had meatloaf -have not made any in some time - very good - mashed potatoes and cabbage and no, did not fry my cabbage. Had a difficult time as this meal took a lot of time in the kitchen and I had a difficult time with the two little ones - Ricky was gripey and the little girl just wanted to rock and roll. Had NO HELP at all. Good food and of course Davey ate his share.

Bless Ricky, however, told him about 7:30 he needed to go to bed - he did NOT take a nap yesterday and he agreed so I helped him gather up his cars and off he went - he is still asleep. Proud of him.

Is COLD right now but we are suppose to be 91 today. Welcome to Fall in Sou Cal - on the way to Thanksgiving.

Eat well everyone.

Re: What's Cooking this November - Thanksgiving Time

Hello Ladies! This is my first foray into these threads so i hope that's ok.

I myself HATE seafood. I have eaten it before but my issue is that when i was in college I worked at the "fresh" seafood counter at the local grocery store and boy oh boy it COMPLETELY put me off of all seafood for life. I've tried it again from time to time but its still no go. I'm not kidding when I say working there was a traumatic experience.

But on to happier things for me...LOL. I just recently made some lasagne rolls, bbq chicken and my Mom's chicken and dumplings recipe.

It's really starting to get cold where I am and I finally forsee myself getting back in the kitchen and cooking more. My sons and I tend to eat out more when the weather is nice. I'm looking forward to using all my favorite kitchen tools again.

Always great to see new people here - keep coming back!!!! Have a good rest of the day - by the way, I generally detest sea food of any kind. LOL
