Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Just dropping by to say MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, eggnog on it's way, if it doesn't make it, here's the recipe @flbettyboop

6 eggs separated, beat yolks till lite & thick

1 cup sugar, add gradually while beating

1/2 cup each   Grand Marnier, Rum, Brandy (original recipe called for 1 cup each, I found that too much so use your own judgement)

1 1/2 quarts whole milk, add slowly & stir

Chill 1 hour

Beat egg whites till stiff, fold into mixture

3 cups whipping cream whipped, fold into mix

Best mad 1-2 days ahead (if you can wait!)

ENJOY

OOPS forgot to add, I've been whipping the cream in the food processor, works great & fast, careful you don't make butter

@flbettyboop I have read many, many beautiful and heartwarming greetings on many threads this holiday season but I think this one touched my heart the most.  Thanks so much for posting this, what a wonderful sentiment!  Heart

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Ham in the oven, baking it slow. Will eat around 1:00 this afternoon. Creamed spinach and side of potatoes.

Later, a cup of Christmas cheer. I may skip the ice and make it a heated drink instead.

Bourbon Milk Punch

Ingredients

1/2 cup half and half

1/4cup whole or reduced-fat (2%) milk

1/4 cup bourbon

1 1/2 teaspoons (or more) sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups ice cubes

Freshly grated whole nutmeg or ground nutmeg

Preparation

Whip first 5 ingredients in blender until foamy. Stir in ice. Strain punch into two 6-ounce glasses or mugs. Sprinkle with nutmeg and serve.
