Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Morning, weather here much like @Soushi24, I agree not a good day to travel, better safe than sorry. We have a dusting of snow, glad it's not the freezing rain, but that might be coming.

Finishing up the leftovers tonite, finally.  Still have a lot of cookies left, think I'll take a plate to the airport tomorrow

Hope all stay warm

Take Care

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Cute pix Preds!!! Still super cold out here in Sou Cal. At least the winds have calmed down.

I have to fix the remainder of my ham for the freezer Soushi  - am assuming there still be some. I did send some home yesterday with the kids Mother but Davey has been here???I package it in individual packets also and some in baggies to be used for seasoning - nothing better since it ain't healthy to use bacon grease any more. Sure miss frying my veggies in that good seasoning. Oh well.

Am fixing frying some yellow squash and onions and will have cornbread with it and sliced tomatoes. Did not want to be standing over the stove at all today but this is easy - I can just run in and out to check on it.

Sears repair is suppose to be here tomorrow between 8 and noon to see what happened to my front big burner. I really need it. Baked some muffins earlier today and I thought the stove was humming - some strange noise so will have them check that also. That stove is NOT that old so am surprised anything is wrong with it.

Stay warm and have a great evening.

Re: What's Cooking this Merry Month of December

Safe travels Soushi. By the way I had NO ham left except just enough to make myself a sandwich - have always had leftover ham, not this time.

Went and bought a pizza for dinner last night - everyone was happy with that decision.

Another super cold morning, Brrrrrr. This will continue for a few more days and no, I have no clue what "few" is defined as. LOL.

What for dinner tonight? Have no clue but do know will be fixing those black eyed peas again for New Years Day - this time with collards. Maybe since green is in the menu some $$ will show up this year.

[ Edited ]

For dinner we wound up with Ravioli - from a can - but it was very very good. Of course had garlic bread with it. The little boy ate it like it was going out of style, so did Tessa and Davey. LOL.

Very cold and I am sleepy. May cook the black eyed peas tomorrow night but probably will wait and do them early Friday morning - Must have that for sure - I think I mentioned somewhere will have collards (for money???) and sliced tomatoes and cornbread of course.  Nothing better for a New Years Day. Will do some washing and try like crazy to check and see what football is going on. Use to spend the entire day doing NOTHING but watching football. Am not on top of it this year but hope to catch some. Do not even know who/what is playing. Boy howdy I am certainly getting old. If my Father were alive he would not believe it as he was my partner in crime when it came to watching football. Must be honest and add my Mother to that - she was also a fanatic. Strange that my sister and two brothers had no desire for sports - they just did not realize what they were missing.

Happy New Year to one and all.
