Took my little great great grand to the mountains yesterday to see her Uncle and Aunt. all had a ball. Actually she is my brother's great great great niece and he took a pix and posted it on Facebook. I think he was kind of proud of her and of course she behaved like an angel. Ricky and Shannon are back so this once quiet house is noisy again - and to think it is just starting. LOL.  Warmed oer the roast and carrots and tossed some red taters in the Microwave and that was dinner - nothing wrong in that. Ricky also had some fruit.

Going to be another hot day. Hope one and all stay cool. As usual Preds, thanks for your pictures and flbettyboop always enjoy yours too.

Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

My kitchen was busy this morning, I made a chocolate pie, easy, and have a roast in the pressure cooker, will put some noodles in to cook afer the roast is done. Lettuce tore up in lock and lock will slice tomato in it when ready to eat. will steam corn in bag in micro also  no big deal. I live alone so pretty much cook for 2 or 3 days. My late husband was a diabetic so made pies for him all the time. I buy graham cracker crusts, sugar free jello pudding , any flavor, slice banana in pie crust, whip pudding , 5 min. pour in crust and chill. also if I have lite whipped cream, I throw in a dollap of it. If you don't have bananas it's fine with out them. I also tear up a whole head of lettuce at a time, and in lock and lock it stays fresh for at least 3 days. I'm not big on cooking but like to eat. left overs are good.

Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

Afternoon, well now the sun is out, no rain today, sure hope the sun dries up the humidity.

Welcome @HLP, your cooking sounds really good, & yes leftovers sure work for me, just heat/eat

Tonite I'm finally trying the Aldis crispy breaded chicken, will do in the air fryer, it gets good reviews on these forums, will have a sweet potato, sliced tomato, it's just me tonite, thinking of making a banana split for dessert

Hope all are eating well & @Winifred hope you're staying cool

Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

Glad to have you stop by HLP and hope yo u are able to stop by more often. We have lost some of our people here and a couple others just need some time to try and get their lives in some order after the loss of a loved one. Difficult at best..

I agree leftovers are often a saving grace. I had them last night and again tonight - same as last night. Now the Fridge is emptied out. I usually try to get more than one meal out of a preparation.

Today got really sultry and hot - going to be worse tomorrow and the entire weekend with the weekend just plain miserable - AGAIN!!! Give me a break.

Now what for dinner tomorrow? Have no clue whatsoever but do know it must be from scratch - my leftovers are completely gone. Will come up with something.

Hope all ate well today.

Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

I'll claim that hug. Just having trouble adjusting to my new life. I am better, but have a long way to go.

Very pretty here, sunny, and the birds are happy with more seed in the feeder. They seem to eat at alarming rate. Must be feeding the whole neighborhood. I have a beautiful red cardinal stop by, I'm claiming it as a visit from Nelson.

Not much cooking here. Have been eating out a lot with friends then bring back leftovers. Will be making a batch of that bowtie salad for a cook out on Tues. night. I think I posted the recipe, if not, remind me. It is a big hit with everyone.

Nice to see all of you.

Spix, how did you like Aldi's chicken? Our Aldi's has only been opened I believe for less than a month but I really like what they have - and the prices are truly great!!!! Also love their very good eggs for 99 cents a dz. Yes indeed!!
