Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

Thanks Preds. Sure is getting lonesome here. I did NO cooking - but warmed up remainder of my Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich I had for lunch - boy howdy it was a good one. Did not need anything else.

Come on stop by everyone - surely anyone has something better to mention than a warmed over sandwich for sinner.

Please feel sorry for me - heat going up 30 plus degrees by the weekend. Now they say it will go  up to about 112 - this is dumb - not the  time for that kind of heat.

Oh my, Freddie.   A warmed up sandwich for a sinner?   You gave me my first laugh of the day.

We went out for pizza last night. Took our great granddaughter.  I wanted to hear what she had to say about vacation Bible school

Her fathers name is Joe and they are studying Joseph. She went to great lengths to tell me they were talking about Joseph in the Bible not her Dad.  She is 5 and very dramatic.  I am not sure how wrapping the pastor in toilet paper fit In.  I'd like to be the one who picks her up every day to catch everything they did lol

Read your note Betty and did a double take on MY post. Sinner huh? That is so weird as I used my spell check - they must know something I wasn't real aware of.

Dinner that is - now let us see what happens with this one.

I've been getting a lot of rewrites it seems.   Automatic correct thinks it knows what I want to say better than I do.  I knew you meant dinner.

But sinner did sound so much funnier! Smiley Wink LOL

My cooking should be considered a sin.

Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

[ Edited ]

On Sunday, I marinated chicken chunks in pesto, minus nuts and parm, and grilled them.  I added the nuts and cheese to the remaining basil, garlic, oil, and salt to drizzle over once on the plate.

Tonight, I will make a pesto pasta with the rest of the pesto, and saute instead of grill, the rest of the chicken, and will add sauteed asparagus to the mix.

Monday was leftover prawn pasta and stuffed mushrooms for DH, salad for me, and last night he was at a game, so I ate a Bobby Chez shortrib smashed patty.

If I don't post, it means leftovers were for dinner. Smiley Happy  Love leftovers, no muss, no fuss.

Re: What's Cooking in your kitchen for June 2016

You have had some good eating at your house Mousiegirl. There comes a time when we all take shortcuts, leftovers are gone, etc and then we improvise. Kind of reached that tonight. All leftovers gone and I was busy and I get more and more tired these days - not like it was even a few months ago. Went to the store to get some cat litter - bought a couple frozen dinners - very good. No one is complaining - so far that is!! It did get a bit warmer this afternoon - this morning it was very chilly - to me plumb cold. We are heading towards that 100 plus mark in a couple days. NOT looking forward to that.

Did not get much done on the tons of paperwork I have been sorting - just not as easy as it use to be but hopefully will get some done tonight. Garbage pick up tomorrow - Davey is visiting elsewhere so I cleaned the cat boxes, hauled all but one but container to the street and I think I will strongly hint to Davey's Mom that SHE can haul the last one out. It is heavy. Still have some last minute things to put in it - it is literally the garbage and trash container. The two yard waste and one recycling container are out there - my contribution to putting out at the curb. We actually do not have curbs on this little street but we can pretend.

Hope one and all had a great day.
