@mousiegirl-----Hi Mousie ! If we lived near each other, you could provide the veggies and I could provide the proteins.......Your crops are just sooooo

yummy looking and sounding and you have such good ideas.

I am going to make your recipe. No spiralizer so I'll matchstick the zucchini.

For the protein I'm going to try something else. In the freezer I have some Chinese sausages that I got from Omaha Beef (I think). They look like a regular sausage but they taste like the pork filling in a pot sticker. I'll remove the casing and scramble the meat. It will either be delicious OR NOT !

@Danky  I used to see the Chinese sauages hanging in the windows of Chinatown, along with the ducks.  I had always wanted to try the sausages, but never have.  I love Asian flavors, ginger, sesame oil, of course garlic, goes into most everything I cook.  I really liked the sauce last night, but here is a tip I forgot to mention.

After sauteeing the meat, I removed it and reduced the liquid in the pan.  I should have cooked the zucchini separately also, because of course it exuded a lot of water, so had to remove and reduce again, so made twice as much work for myself than necessary.  Of course, the liquid could be left in the pan as a sauce.

@Winifred-----I had never heard of the Kahiki brand so I went to their site to see if the chicken you had was available anywhere around here...NOPE !

The brand is sold at Acme and Stop&Shop ,two stores that I do go to ,but the selections are limited. I am going try what they have next time I go.

@Pooky1  No, I havn't.  I have heard of it so may try it one day.  I like multigrain rice, such as wild rice mixed with other rice.  DH likes plain white, I use Jasmine.

I have heard of cauliflower pizza crust, but we like a good pizza dough crust. Smiley Happy

@Pooky1-----I have never been a huge rice lover. I do eat it often but prefer

potatoes and pasta or bread.

Because I love cauliflower I have tried it and thought it was really good ,too.

Of course, by the time I add patS of butter and s&p it's probably robbed of all health benefits. LOL

I love roasted cauliflower. Make it at the beginning of the day and nibble on the room temp pieces all day....yummy.

@mousiegirl-----I 100% agree with you about Thanksgiving dinner. That's why I didn't order it for the holidays.  The meal is so much more than the food and the food is so much more than 2 sides and a breast. Since turkey is one of my favorites, I have it routinely throughout the year and thought the MS would be fun to try. On Christmas we have a prime rib roast with twice stuffed potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, roasted asparagus and salad......

same menu every year since I was a child.

Also, meant to say, I LOVE lamb patties. Growing up we didn't have hamburger patties we had lamb patties. I haven't had one in 20 years..

i don't remember to buy ground lamb !

@Danky  We have prime rib with sour cream horseradish sauce on the side, and twice stuffed potatoes for our Christmas day meal also. Smiley Happy  I sometimes switch the vege.

If I serve broccoli or cauliflower, I roast them also, sometimes a little too much, but I like some crispy bits, lol.

Danky, hope you are able to find that chicken. I really enjoyed it. Next time at Sam's I hope to buy a couple boxes - maybe even three. It was so very good and I know that if the kids grandma and friend are here would have to fix both packages. As you know, that frozen stuff cooks down a bit - now to hope Sam's will still carry it as they often change brands and you cannot get what you got before. LOL.

Going to be chilly this morning - I mean it IS chilly but certainly not real cold. I need to get a move on and get ready for the meeting. I always dread attending Medicare info meetings but learned the hard way they are so very important!

Have a good day everyone - not sure at this time of day what we will be eating tonight.

Re: What's Cooking in October 2017 - trying to get month correct

good evening everyone.tonight we had the south western egg rolls left over. i heated them in oven on a rack in a sheet pan so they would still be crispy instead of soggy in microwave. they were even better left over and last night ria made south western pork and pasta. she cuts boneless pork into bite size peices and cooks it and removes it from pan then she makes creme sauce its basiclly whipping creme salsa and cumin and 2 cans of mexican corn.it was very good. i think our dishwashers pump is starting to go. but we do have a service contract on it. hope everyone has a great end of the week and weekend.

HI @Pooky1---- boy does that pork dish sound fabulous. I get such great ideas and reminders from all of you. Since my husband (who was a very

well known and honored executive chef) died, I have just gotten into a boring routine. It doesn't help that the man I am seeing considers gourmet food to be Popeye's chicken.

I dragged myself up and made pan seared pork chops, applesauce, baked potato and fresh green beans for dinner. It was good but so simple nothing could really go wrong.

Have a great, relaxing evening.
