Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Hey Soushi. If I lived closer I would go out with you and your friends also - probably uninvited but then I am pushy sometimes. LOL. Glad to see you - so when you feel up to it, let us know what you are eating "out". We tend to get a bit jealous on occasion however.

Tonight it is chicken breasts in the slow cooker with yogurt dressing by Ranch, should be interesting. The dressing is dry and sprinkled on the chicken breasts. Also broccoli in those steam bags with cheese  and also carrots with butter. Sounds good to me.

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Last night, we ate my green soup, made with many types of greens, and cabbage, carrots, potatoes, pesto, several types of beans, not green, pasta, onions, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, you name it and it is probably in it.

I make a huge vat of it, takes all day, and freeze it in meal size portions in tallish Lock & Lock containers. If we eat it once a week, it lasts for about three months before we run out, last night's was the last of it, so will have to make more.  It is so delicious, healthy, and on evenings when I don't want to cook, want to eat lifhgt, or can't think of anything, I just pull one container out and thaw it.

Evening, today was airport day, then did more planting when I got home, so tonite is Chinese order in, just tuckered out.  Weather is very nice, but storms predicted so all but my tomato plants are in the ground, will go to Aldis tomorrow to see if they got any better baskets in

@Soushi24 glad you're going out with friends, it does help, take it slow.

Are you doing okay @spix?  I've been worried about you, too.

Yes, @Soushi24, it takes time and there are periods when it hits like a ton of bricks.  You have great friends that are doing their best to keep you going.  Love them for that.

@Preds, Thank You for thinking of me, it seems all of us experience some form of grief in our lives, some more than others, I have learned to just take it slow & follow your heart, & forget the "what if's" they'll make you crazy, & what get's me thru is "when it's your time, it's your time"

Hope you are doing well my dear, you have brought much joy to these forums with your pix & words, keep it up, you make my day

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Love your pix Preds - and it is so right - ALL these days seem to pop up fast.

Struggled really hard to fix dinner - opened a packaged of frozen bagel bites, stuck them in the microwave and we all ate - all except the itty bitty one of course. She had mashed carrots for dinner. LOL.

Hope all had a great day - mine was a tad hectic. Went to Toyota and sat there for about 3 hours - regular maintenance. Had them also put a new steering wheel cover on - those things sure have gotten pricey but I always have one due to the heat out here and they are also more comfy to hold on to than the regular steering wheel. Then got stuck in traffic forever and a day - could not figure out why but something must have gone on. Got home and did some chores and then headed to get Davey.  After picking up Davey from school, headed to Target in Redlands to get some things, came back up the freeway and then went to fill up my gas tank - that was wasted motion - could not get in. Have no clue what that was about

So tomorrow morning hope to get the gas - that happens every now and then - the station can be completely empty or you cannot get in - go figure - I have not been able to figure that out except on Friday afternoons - EVERYONE heads out of town here - either to the ocean, River or mountains. LOL. We have them all.

Re: What's Cooking in May - it got here really fast!!

Morning, getting really hot/humid here, as suspected no Spring, right into Summer. Nasty storms last nite & I think more to come today

Out to get gas this am at Sam's, don't know what happened to the price drop, didn't last long.  @Winifred hope you can get yours today with no problems.

Leftover Chinese tonite as I'm alone so need to clean out the fridge, also had leftovers last nite

Hoping all have a good day
