Thanks Preds - I always enjoy your daily greetings.
Took Miss Mary to the Senior Luncheon at the Bryant Street Church yesterday - a late July 4 thing. Very very nice = therefore I did not cook for dinner but there was plenty of food here to be either nuked or put in the oven. Always keep a supply of packaged food for emergencies.
Had oatmeal for breakfast and actually did not eat much of a lunch. Do not know why, just fixed the little dawgs in a wrap - use to be called Pigs in a Blanket but these were Vienna sausages, not the bigger hot dawgs. It worked but I need to do a bit better than that. I need to change that attitude as that can get me in a lot of trouble. Was planning to fix a nice dinner but realized it would be only me and little one. Not worth doing a lot for one old lady. She took a nap of 3 hours - could NOT believe that. I do not think she is feeling on top of the world - she cut her first tooth a few days back and is coughing and hacking a bit too much. She sleeps all night however but kind of lolligagging around during the day - bless her little heart - she is such an angel.
She went with me to the store - boy howdy that takes some energy. Can carry her just fine but in those car seats - will break your back. My age really shows up when I pick her up in the car seat but must do it - I put the entire thing in the grocery basket. And it was hotter than you know what about an hour or so ago.
I bought a marvelous Coconut Creme Pie on Friday afternoon and put it on top of the Fridge instead of inside - forgetting I guess how "not cold" my house is int he summer. LOL. Decided I was going to dig in - WRONG - had to toss it - it was molded. I have NEVER had that happen to me - not ever. My kitchen is not warm either but I rarely turn the AC on in there but I do it on occasion. Very surprised - guess for sure it really is hot.
My PC has been really acting up. Keeps telling me that memory is very low - clean everythingl. I have very little on my PC so do not know what that is all about. Always something.
Hope all had a great day - Soushi - special thoughts for you.

Thanks Preds.
Had boneless pork chops cooked with onion and peppered gravy in the slow cooker. Also baked taters and carrots/peas/ green beans - very good dinner.
Hope one and all have stayed cool - it is super hot here.
Saturday a nice young man - he owns a landscaping, etc business and was working on the house next door that the tenants left in tatters. They NEVER watered anything outside, never cut the weeds - pretty bad. Heard from these young men the outside was not any too good also. At any rate Saturday they are cutting down my HUGE dead pecan tree and two other smaller trees. Breaks my heart but they need to be removed as they are fire hazards as dead as they are - and I can get cited. He is doing it all and hauling everything away for $250. While I will pinch pennies for a while - it is a good deal. They did an excellent job next door. Those trees were all here and put in by the gentleman who built this house - John Heflin. So sad but the drought just left nothing much.
Hope one and all are cool and all ate well.

Threw a couple of boneless pork chops in the crock pot along with cream of mushroom soup and boxed scalloped potatoes. I don't usually use this many processed foods but I have to start in canning tomato juice as soon as I get home from work. Hubby will be happy when he gets home before me and sees that supper is ready all except for the green beans. He is going in to work early (he builds houses) and gets off around noon due to the excessive heat. He is ready to go to bed every night at 7:30. I barely get to see him but glad that he has the option of working when it's cooler. Hope all of you have a great day !!

MARKY1, I just LOVE my slow cooker - use it for most of my cooking and have found a lot of ways to fix basic food. We both had pork chops last night so that was good - and both used our slow cookers. LOL. It is easy and simple. Glad to see you here, hope you keep stopping by. Some of our regulars are dealing with other concerns and we miss them but I am convinced they will be back.
Soushi, have you stopped by Birds Nest in Among Friends lately? Always some interesting chatter there. Do stop by and read it - I think you may find it soothing.
Going to be yet another hot one - not sure what for dinner yet - way to early to think about it. LOL.
Have a good day one and all.
