good evening everyone. chilly, windy and rain all day. yestauday maria cooked something very good but easy to throw together. she took out white beans out of the freezer and cooked beans, butter salt and cooked a pound of pasta. very simple but very good. today anna made french fries, rabbi, salad and she fried some black patrami and we had it on rye bread with american cheese. very good.tonight im making egg and cheese on grilled english muffins with hash browns. on december 12 maria will be starting baking christmas cookies. i feel like we just planted the garden in may and its allready the holiday season. cant believe how fast this year is going by. hope everyone has a great week. been missing some of you. its been quiet on this cooking thread this month. hope everyone is doing well.

I have been busy stocking the house for the last few weeks; my last grocery run for the year, is planned for the 18th or 19th of December, and then I hope to avoid the grocery store until early March.
Our eating has centered around the items pulled from the big freezer, and overflow freezer, and stashed in the main fridge freezer for quick use. I have one more package of meat to use before buying the items on my quick use list for the main fridge freezer. This is where I store butter, cheese, bacon, sausage, French toast sticks, frozen bread dough, chopped peppers, and English muffins.
My husband and I eat light and simple when the girls aren’t here, which means very little kitchen time for me. I am quite okay with that. At least the main fridge has room for what I’m cooking for Thanksgiving!

Prime rib roast (in our Ronco rotissere), cesaer salad, home-made keto custard tarts and James Arthur Vineyards 'edelweiss' wine from right here in Nebraska.

Thanksgiving is predicted to be 32 at low end and 44 at the high end. I think that means a cold day. LOL. Just hope the winds at least will be calm. We have been spoiled here in Sou Cal - beautiful warm weather until a few days ago. Oh yes, we had a couple chilly days but overall so very nice. Now we are freezing - up go the heating bills.
No big cooking lately but am surviving. My little great great grandson Anthony has been here for two days. Cannot watch the little ones by myself any more so have had other in and out help. Well, some would call it help.
Have plenty of food in the Fridge and big freezer to last quite a spell so not much grocery shopping needed before Thanksgiving - of course a few odds and ends - that will work for me. Today will have pick up breakfast and lunch and to eat later in the day perhaps orange chicken and veggies. Nothing difficult to fix there.
Hope your day goes fine!
Have a great day everyone.

good evening everyone. winifred i know you like aldi store. but they had dog pajamas advertized last week for 5 bucks and ria went in 3 different aldi and no one had them so i tried calling the stores in the area a few days later and all the store phone numbers all give you a message directing us to i think it was there corporate office so you cant call the store to ask a question. have you eve tried to call aldis. i never hurd of a store not allowing customers to call with a question and i worked in a supermarket for 20 years. ria did go back to aldis in the middle of last week and they had them so ria got our dog 3 pairs of pajamas. yes our dog is SPOILED. lol. cool and cloudy down here. maria made sweet and sour chicken with pineapple chunks and red peppers over rice. she enought for 3 nights then thanksgiving and lots of leftovers. anna and maria are both making stuff. hope everyone has a great week and a happy thanksgiving.

I am like you - NEVER heard of a business that does not want questions or phone calls. that is so weird. I would probably try and find out where the area supervisor is - so dumb. I will ask Aldi's here tomorrow - no names mentioned but will first check to see if there are doggie pj's there. I think I saw some Saturday - the store was jammed with merchandise AND customers.

Pooky1, could not find out a thing about Aldi's policies????
Hope all have a super good day with family and/or friends - be sure and eat well.
Weather freezing and super wet but at least no snow. Up in the hills around me however, they are going crazy with the snow.
Stay warm everyone
