I dont get it either, but I have a friend who loves hers. As far as durability its a wait and see. I moved a year ago and did a huge "cleaning out" of my kitchen stuff. I got rid of anything square, baking and cooking, except for 1 brownie baking dish. I do not like washing the corners. lol. I got rid of the old skillets and lids. Kept my iron skillet, bought a silicone lid for it and bought a T fal ceramic skillet at Walmart for $20.00 and I really like it. Yes it has some small chips in the ceramic but I use SS utensils. I also just do not understand the square skillets on a round burner, but my friend loves hers.

Been using stainless steel for many years. I also have several pieces of Le Creuset.
I don't understand the hype about the Copper Chef either. The non-stick coating is just that - it's sprayed with chemicals. I haven't used a non stick pan since the 1980's (I was in my early 20's and still living at home with parents). I remember noticing that my mom's non stick was flaking. I immediately threw it out and told her not to buy anymore non stick. She never did. And I never purchased any either.

Love my Copper Chef pans. So far, I have the Dutch oven and round fry pan and I have the griddle and grill on order. If you use them correctly and clean them corrently, they are absolutely great. Nothing sticks and the clean up is fabulous!

What the heck is the fascination with this stuff?
Not being a smart alec here, but what am I missing with this stuff?
You're not missing anything momiohio. Your answer is in the first line..."seen the infomercials" It's popular because the marketers of it have spent gazillions of dollars on the infomercials. I'd bet money it's no better than any other non-stick available, but when people see an infomercial for it at every turn, they get suckered in.

I get mixed up betweeen Copper Chef and Gotham Steel? I did buy two Gotham Steel fry pans from QVC and I like them. However, more recently I bought a small set of pans from Curtis Stone on HSN. The best I have so far.

Well, you aren't missing much. My husband eats scrambled egg whites every morning, so I bought the small skillet for him. When we first got it, we did not have to use any type of oil to coat the skillet. After using it daily for about a month, the eggs started to stick....so, there you have it. We continue to use it daily with Crisco cooking spray. It is not scratched and seems to be holding up well otherwise, but this business about not having to use any type of cooking oil is not exactly correct! So, in essence, they aren't much different than any other "non-stick" skillet I have ever purchased!

Heuck Ceramic cookware that I bought on Amazon a few years ago has been great for an economy nonstick cookware set. It is light weight and cleans up very easily. It has a ceramic white interior coating. A whole set for about $50.
