@Laura14

Tuna melts are common "diner" food here in NYC, with a side of fries!

It is good!   Try it with different cheeses like provolone or mozzarella.  You can also jazz up the cole slaw with some salad dressing.

Also you can substitute canned salmon for the tuna.

@ALRATIBA   I have never heard of that.  I may have to steal that at some point.  Sounds really good.

@ALRATIBA   It sounds amazing!  I have it written down for my next food shopping excursion.

@tobes I don't care if they are.  It's all mine.  I love provolone.  Believe it or not, very hard to find here in the South.  There's not a lot of Italians that made it this way.  I about cried when I found escarole one time in the supermarket aisle.  The cashier didn't even know how to ring it up.

@Laura14 I am on a sort of plant diet and pumpernickle bread has little sugar so that's why Ilike it.  Love farm fresh tomatoes.  I never thought there was any cheese that measured up to provolone except parmigina reggiana. .  I am in the Northeast but I had no thought that one could ot get provolone cheese anywhere in the U.S.

@tobes  I am from Jersey and moved South about 20 years ago. It's amazing what they don't know.  Pastina, forget about it.  Escarole, rub a lamp.  And real provolone or romano and parmesan, you will find that in the "specialty" shops or areas.  I've never been so high class and exclusive in all my life.  Smiley Very Happy
