@depglass ...............Google says that cast aluminum is molded into shapes.  Cast aluminum is considered strong but not as strong as cast iron.

 

One example of cast aluminum is patio furniture.

 

Dont know if this helps you any or not.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that cast aluminum is poured into a mold, cooled, and comes out as one piece rather than being pressed out of a sheet and thr handle needing to be riveted on.

We had some avocado green Club Aluminum back in the day, and I wish we still did!  Not too long ago I found a Guardian Service pot at a thrift store.  It's similar, but I think pre-dates Club.  It sears and braises well.
