Hi all, I was just wondering what food processor you guys think I should purchase for my daughter. She has dropped some subtle hints that she would like one for her birthday or Christmas coming up. I have the kitchen aid but some reviews are saying the new ones are made cheaply. Thoughts? Thank you for your help!

The Breville Sous Chef Food Processor. I did ALL my research and waited a YEAR before I got it but WOW it's EVERYTHING to me. The sticker price is high, but after having it now for over a year, I wouldn't be without it...I couldn't be without it! It is a WORK HORSE in my kitchen http://www.surlatable.com/product/PRO-174636/?affsrcid=Aff0001&CAGPSPN=pla&CAWELAID=120120820000002...

I've had a Custom 11 Cuisinart for about 20 years. . .well, actually it's my second one. I use it almost daily, and during "harvest" some days all day. It doesn't take up much room and does everything that I need. Should it ever die, I will replace it with a twin.

How is the Ninja? I saw some in Target tonight and was surprised - I thought it was a QVC brand. Anyway, it is a food processor, isn't it?

I have a Cuisnart that has lasted almost 30 years, granted I don't use it as much as I used to. So I would probably go with that.

Love my Cuisinart! have had it for over 25 years- That said, I also have the Ninja, and use that a lot as well, (for chopping and pureeing especially while canning)but they function somewhat differently..
I really need both of them-

I sent back the KitchenAid 13 cup I ordered on the Q, and ended up buying a Cuisinart at Bed Bath & Beyond. Love it!

I'm on my second Cuisinart.

I've had a kitchenaid for years so I don't know about the new ones. I'd say go by how much she likes to cook for how expensive of one you buy.

Sad to say, the KA were good but now are kind of bad. And I can't recommend the Wolfgang Puck. I had one and it broke apart.
The two good choices I know of are Breville and Cuisinart. The Breville is a tank and gets great reviews from America's Test Kitchen but it's pricy. The Cuisinart is reasonably priced and has excellent sharp blades, especially for slicing.
