I typically don't cook things that need special tools. I could see where I could be handy for a seasoned cook.

I wouldn't at this stage of my life because I just may own every gadget and small kitchen appliance available
There was a time in my life when my budget could not include items like that , but I would have loved to use them and I have always had access to a public library as an adult.
Hot water and soap would probably eliminate germs from previous use. Follow that with spritz of bleach or alcohol and that would get the job accomplished. I think it would encourage trying creativity and trying new homemade foods. A win/win for many or all communities.

I wouldn't because I have everything I need at this time. However, I think it's a great idea for those who perhaps can't afford to buy every gadget they want or need. Or even those who want to try something before they make the investment in a purchase.
Not everyone is as fortunate as many of us. For some, it could be a very useful service. Things can be cleaned.

My public library has things like this that you can check out. Most of them are cake pans shaped like different characters for a kid's party. A good idea if you don't want to invest money in buying a pan.

No way.

A little odd, but it has me thinking.
Maybe this might become a trend for people who don't want to own things, especially things they don't use all the time.
In 10 years, this might become the norm.

I can see the "ick" factor, but a lot of people go to Party Supply places and rent tablecloths, wine glasses, punch bowls, etc. Might work out for some people to get an item from the library (and clean it) to see if it is worth purchasing one. (no fee here to use the library unless you get a late fee)

I think these days libraries are turning more away from reading and more to social services and entertainment of the "cool medium" kind--movies, music--and teaching classes in this and that.
