What did I do wrong???

Made peanut butter/Special K no bakes for the 1st time & they turned out awful. My girlfriend @ work makes them & they are light. Mine were like rocks, even when you bit into them. Any idea what I might have done wrong (I thought I followed the recipe correctly)???
