Re: What cooking this december?

I have a very small bowl of chili left and am deciding whether to eat it over spaghetti or rice with cheese on top.

With spaghetti, that sounds like it's straight off the menu from a Skyline Chili restaurant.  Famous all around the Cincinnati area.

Re: What cooking this december?

I played hooky from work today and watched my husband make beef stew! He made it last week and it was a big hit.

My son came by and grabbed some for him and DIL.

Today he made a bigger batch. This is only his second time making this. I helped him by cutting up the veggies.

Last week I gave him directions over the phone.

This week he's an old pro!

Re: What cooking this december?

Good morning everyone. Freezing this morning in the teens and single digits. Yestauday morning I had mini muffins. I had a friend I use to work for come over for lunch.I usually cook but she said I will get us lunch so we ordered Chinese food. Before she came I prepped dinner so when she left cooking would be easy. I made chicken cutlets, baked potatoes and glazed carrots. We had grapes and a snack. Have a great day everyone.

Re: What cooking this december?

Our igloo dinner was fun, but last year was better.  Last year the property was fully covered in lights and decorated with vignettes on a walking path.  This year, that's gone, just the onsite buildings had lights and there were a few fire pits to gather at and make s'mores.  This grandkids liked making the s'mores.

Our dinner was fantastic but DH and I really overdid it.  I don't know what he's doing today but I'm fasting.  This afternoon I have an ENT appointment.  We may stop and do some browsing at TJMaxx which is right across the street.  I'm looking for a Christmassy insulated tumbler.

Re: What cooking this december?

Last night I took the soup and veggies (no meat) out of my Beef Veggie soup and added 4 pot stickers!  Browned them and cut into 3 pieces.  The new flavor was amazing!  Adding the pork and cabbage changed it just enough!

I was to arrive at the ENT fifteen minutes before my appointment time.  We got there a couple minutes before that.  I got called in almost immediately.  He looked at my ears and sinuses, said to continue what I'm currently doing and come back in a year.  Thank you and Merry Christmas. DH and I were walking back to the car before the scheduled appointment time.  We stopped at TJMaxx but didn't see anything I couldn't live without.  They had a Swig 40 oz. tumbler that was a steal at $16.99 but I didn't care for the design so I passed.

Today's isn't an exciting outing but a necessary one.  This afternoon we have some UPS returns to drop off and then our grocery trips to Costco and Sam's.  We'll get something to eat while we're out.
