Re: What cooking this december?

Made the "all in one" Turkey Casserole tonight.  Turkey from the Deli, Butter fried celery & onion, Pepperidge Farm stuffing and Chicken broth & some cream of chicken soup.  Tried the "Better than Gravy" Roasted Turkey (it's not!)  and Cranberry sause. It was OK but not the best!    Anyway, I'll finish it tomorrow.....  Learning to cook for 1 or 2!

So much for what the telephone receptionist at the car dealership told DH.  DH repeated her word to the intake agent and they said, "she's insane".  LOL. They tested the battery and there was a bad cell.  And, of course, it's not part of the warranty.  They were feeling kind and took $40 off the bill.  It was still over $400! 😳

DS and the kids are visiting again today.  We're ordering pizza and I'll make a salad to go with it.

Re: What cooking this december?

It's still unseasonably warm (55* right now and a high of 63*) here for December.  It's supposed to rain all day and not let up until around 6:00PM.  Heavy winds will commence late afternoon/early evening.  They are expect to increase to advisory status.  Some areas may lose power. It'll get increasingly colder overnight and tomorrow will only be  16-25* and the wind will continue.  We could get 47 mph gusts.

I have a return to do at Costco and another to do at UPS.  I thought we'd do them this afternoon until I saw the forecast.  Neither one is urgent so we'll probably wait until Tuesday when we will be out for hair appointments anyway.

I was looking in the refrigerator for something yesterday and spotted a container of fresh mushrooms.  Then I was in the freezer and spotted ribeyes. I moved a couple of ribeyes to the fridge to thaw for today's lunch.  I will slice and sautee the mushrooms and make some roasted asparagus to go with the steaks. I picked up more black truffle butter when we were shopping with my sister so we're all set.

Re: What cooking this december?

Good morning everyone. Friday night into yestauday we got snow. Like 4 inches.we had our snow guy come clean it up and ria went to work with her snow crew . I saw heated gloves on qvc so I got ria a pair for Christmas and she loves them. She let someone at work wear them when she went inside and he told her he loved them and needed to get a pair for him. The gifts ria got from work was shocking. In cash and gift cards she got 335. And alot of stuff. Ria and Kevin the operations manager split the cost and got all there people a gift and lottery tickets. I made cherry turnovers for breakfast yesterday and the over of them for today's breakfast. Yestauday we ordered Chinese food. Lunch with Anna later. Qvc had a special on pills last week so I ordered a set. Should be delivered tomorrow. They looked nice. Have a great day everyone.

Re: What cooking this december?

We went out to dinner last night.  I had fish and fry platter, SO had a hot sausage sub.  Big portions.  Leftovers for today.

I'm meeting a friend for a Mexican Christmas lunch today.  Last of the get togethers for 2025.  We always enjoy getting together.  Will be fun catching up.
