Re: What are you serving for valentines day?

[ Edited ]

We went out to dinner early last night.    That was a good plan.  I don't like crowds, or 'special' menus that much, either, so this was very pleasant.

But, geez, restaurants put so much food on a plate that I'll probably still be eating from last night's dinner on Tuesday!  Smiley Happy

Friskies Buffet Prime Filets with gravy, and at bedtime, small servings of Fancy Feast dry food, which I've tricked my loved ones into thinking are Bonkers.

It will be a long work week for us, so I'll make a chef salad when we get home.  Maybe we can have steak and wine on the weekend.

Oops have not even thought of what to have for dinner that night. I think DH is working all evening so will be a TV dinner? LOL Maybe pizza? Sigh I think will just be another day eating alone.

I took my husband out last week, but will do a family meal tomorrow with grilled ribeyes, baked potatoes and salad.   Chocolate mousse for dessert.  The girls will eat with their boyfriends on Tuesday.

Re: What are you serving for valentines day?

We never eat out on Valentine's Day.  Thankfully, I have one of those husbands who treats me special every day of the year.  He works the food pantry on Tuesday nights, so he won't even be home until 9 o'clock - at which time I'll prep him our usual Tuesday night soup and grilled cheese sandwich.

Shhhh... this is a secret, though.  I bought big, beautiful strawberries and a bag of Ghirardelli chocolate morsels. I'm going to surprise him with chocolate dipped berries.

Re: What are you serving for valentines day?

DH & I went out for lunch to a quirky little restaurant in the area that we love. I had breakfast & he had a salad. Tonight we are having some kind of fish, fried or mashed potatoes and a salad. He is not a dessert eater. I made 2 pans of brownies this morning; one was for our 2 sets of neighbors who are both alone and the other was for my librarians (I call them my dealers). Happy V Day to all of you today & every day.

We are having prime rib, salad, asparagus, garlic bread and a heart shaped white cake for dessert. No eating out with the crowds.
