I have owned a LG dryer for 2 yrs and not a lick of problems. thanks goodness.
My husband purchased an LG fridge in August 017. We really like it. Since day one there was a nitch of gasket taken out of the door of the fridge. It has taken me and my husband since early December trying to get someone to the house to repair this bad gasket on fridge door.
I did contact LG (Lowes-repair contact for 5 yrs with this new fridge) but just never followed up on this repair till December when I decided it was time to get this repair done. We have made so many calls to Lowes repair line and LG we have lost count.
Lowes told us that they can not find anyone to work on LG appliances. WOW just what I wanted to know.
Why are these companies selling products if NO one will repair them.
I guess when dryer goes, have to purchase a new one same with the fridge. I guess they are toss away products.

@viva923, I would personally visit the store and speak with the manager. Also, you probably are going to need to contact an independent repair person who advertises that they fix LG products. We have a really good one where I live and he does fix LG products. Luckily, so far, our fridge is working perfectly; and, while we did get a service contract, it was through HH Gregg, which is now out of business.

I have both an LG and a Frigidaire, and when My repair guy comes out to fix my Frigidaire, I ask him if he works on LG and he says that he does not, and hardly anyone does...I love the LG -So was sad to hear this.
My boss loved his LG too, and had someone who could fix his ice maker...problem was that they no longer made the parts for it..and it was less than 5 years old...
I now knock on wood for mine, which is nearly 12 years old!!!!

"Lowes-repair contact for 5 yrs"
"Lowes told us that they can not find anyone to work on LG appliances"
Hmmmm....Lowes going to refund your $$$ you paid for their worthless contract?
I would also look into why you were sold a worthless warranty since Lowes already knew no repiremen/women for LG. I smell a lawsuit.
What did LG tell you about repairing your frig?
"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

We have an LG frig and have never had a problem with it BUT it does NOT have the water and ice dispenser. I have 4 friends/co-workers with the same LG Frig with the water/ice dispenser and they all have have nothing but problems for years.
As many have written there seems to be a shortage of LG repair-people and parts. I have my fingerscrossed for the frig.
After the last several problems with LG products in our house we will NEVER again buy another LG anything.

For what it is worth, I have an LG dishwasher and have had the pumps replaced several times and the mother board was replaced last month.
i get my repairs done through Sears. I have never had a problem getting someone to come out or getting parts.
According to their website, they repair LG refrigerators.
Maybe you can call their repair service. I purchased a warranty policy with them that covers all of my appliances, not matter where they were purchased including the furnace and hot water heater. You do not have to purchase the warranty to get service through them.

I bought a full set of all of my appliances when we moved in here 3 years ago from Best Buy. But unless you purchase their extended warranty you are scr^wed when it comes to any repairs. We had a loud sound coming from our frig and no one could help us. We finally located a local repairman that came out, replaced a part (that he actually had on his truck!) and we were good to go.

wow guys all these stories are very interesting. I wished I asked before we purchased this fridge.
this LG fridge does have a ice maker in freezer but it is not hooked up. My old house never was equipped for ice making fridges so it is never in use. I freeze ice cubes the old fashion way, ice trays
consumer reports says LG is the best. I guess the people who own the LG appliances have repair people.
Will never purchase another LG product either.
I have owned Samsung will never purchase that brand either.
I gues it is best to stick with american made products. I have owned american made products over the years, whirlpool and GE and have had bad luck with them that is why I have steered clear of these U.S. brand products.
I will say I do own an American made washer. Speed Queen, made is Wisconsin and they are a work horse. BUT again, trying to find someone to work on Speed Queen is very hard. They too are a hybred product that you need to find special people who will work on them.
This is making reevaluate how to purchase appliances again.

I had a Lowes sales person tell me that if you are not satisfied with "the fix" or lack there of re: your appliance, they will allow you to switch it out with something new and it can be a different brand. Dont know if that helps but at least it is something but he also told me it takes persistance.

I purchased an LG appliance package at Home Depot including dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator. The refrigerator has never sealed correctly although the LG company sends me a check each year in the amount of $12.00 for some class action suit. No one will work on LG for warranty work. Six repair companies have told me they never get paid for warranty work and parts are impossible to get. The icemaker quit four years ago. The dishwasher went to the dump. The microwave worked occasionally. Terrible purchase of a wasted $4200.00.
