I've already done the Kraft Fantacy Fudge two days ago.
The Seven Layer Cookies were done last night.
Today, Butterscotch Bars with 2 cups of pecans (heaven)
Mexican Wedding Cookies (dough chilling now)
Vanilla flavored White Chocolate pretzels to sprinkle on the tops of the trays.
I gift several 16 in round trays and the family has favorites too!
Love the smiles!

I love Christmas baking. So far,
- gingersnaps
- cocoon cookies
- chocolate rum balls
- cinnamon logs
- chocolate truffle cookies
- Chex mix
- fudge from Bakers semisweet chocolate
I might make some pecan orange balls. Butterscotch bars sound yummy!

@Ruby Laine Would you mind sharing your chocolate rum ball recipe? I am wanting to make some, and would love to check out your recipe.

My GD expects caramel corn pops. I like spiced nuts and divinity.

Hi, @alicedee—
Stir together:
3 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafer crumbs (I use an 11oz box)
1 cup confectioners sugar—I use a little more. Maybe 1/4 cup.
1/4 cup cocoa. I throw in extra.
1 cup finely chopped pecans. I use about 1/2 cup. I’m not crazy
about nuts
Stir in 1/3 cup light Karo and
1/3 cup light or dark rum. I use Sailor Jerry’s spiced rum. It has caramel flavoring and is not as tangy as regular rum. And I use a few extra shots because my teetotaler mom did!
ETA roll in 1 inch balls and store in air tight container. It makes about 4 dozen.

@Ruby Laine Thanks so much for the recipe.....I’m definitely going to try these. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I am not a baker. The only thing I make is cracker candy. It's just saltine crackers, butter, brown sugar with chocolate morsels melted on top. You keep it refrigerated, and it's delicious. You can't tell that it's saltine crackers. Everybody loves it. I got the recipe years ago. I think it was from a Junior League cookbook.

I'd make so many different types of cookies if it were up to me but I only make two. Peanut Butter Blossoms and Chocolate Chip. If I made everything I wanted to, I'd eat it all. I love cookies. Even cutting back this Christmas. Husband is on a no carb diet so only make peanut butter blossoms. Grrrr! But he's only been on this diet since Thanksgiving and lost over 10 pounds. His brother, which was his inspiration, lost 40 pounds in 5 months. I saw him over Thanksgiving and WOW! He has since lost 25 more pounds since then. I'm not going to recognize him the next time I see him!

I must admit, it's lovely to have adult daughters who ready and willing to share some the baking and cooking. One daughter is making the cookies, the other is making the Christmas cake. I usually bake several varieties of cookies, it differs year to year. We do a big Christmas Eve, Christmas breakfast and then a casual Christmas dinner. This year, I'm free to make what I want to make. I'm going to bake a couple of dessert breads; an apple bread and a cinnamon bread. I'm also going to make one of my favorites, a big bannana pudding. We celebrate Christmas the entire week so there's no such thing as too much food.

Cookies: Gingerbread, sugar, raspberry thumbprints, spritz, snickerdoodles, chocolate krinkles, cherry/pistachio/ choc.chip, Italian anise. To gift and to share with family following Christmas dinner.
Still to make: fudge and pretzels dipped in chocolate with sprinkles.
