What Pies Are Traditional at Your Thanksgiving Table?

I just read an e-mail that talked about traditional pies, and they kept saying apple pie was of course traditional.

I can tell you there was never an apple pie on our Thanksgiving table at all.  There was often one of those cream cheese and cherry pies or a whip and chill mince meat pie we loved, pecan, always a pumpkin (avoided mostly by me) then two or three new things every holiday meal.

The new might be some sort of lane cake, rich whipped chocolate pie, an elaborate cake, flan, or tarte--all rich and over the top.  But there were always new things.

What is standard for holidays for your family?  And what is new!

My grandma made pecan ( blech) and pumpkin ( my fave) for thanksgiving. Never apple. Although i do like apple pie.

New tradition that i will bring to other's Thanksgiving is Pumpkin Cheesecake with cinnamon graham and gingersnap crust.

My mother-in-law used to always serve a homemade hot milk cake and assorted store bought pies.

The cake was very tasty, but needed a glaze or frosting.

Growing up, it was always pumpkin  pie. The last 40 or so years of my hosting the family gathering,🦃 it's sweet potato(my favorite), 🍠 pumpkin,🎃 apple 🍎 and pecan pie.🥧 This year I'm also thinking  of getting a pumpkin cheesecake! 🍰I usually save the cakes for Christmas!🎄

Always several sweet potato pies at our house, and my cousins houses as well.  Also the ocassional pecan pie (I'm not a fan).  No pumpkin pies or apple pies though.
