I haven't had French toast, a waffle, a pancake, or country ham for more than a month. I had a bacon and egg sandwich over the weekend, but would love some hearty sausage gravy and biscuits.

Do Not Read This if you are among the faint of tummy-

My absolute TOTAL favorite breakfast when I was a small child only happened on Saturdays, cooked by my father.

It was a post Depression dish, creatively developed to use "everything from the pig but the SQUEAL".

Except it was VEAL. (REMEMBER- I TOLD YOU NOT TO CONTINUE.....)

Veal kidneys, soaked overnight in salt water, then dried on paper towels, sliced about1/4" thick, breaded in cornmeal, and fried in Crisco in a cast iron frying pan.

GOURMET! I was never able to sell my kids on them, and only tried once. But I remember as though it were yesterday, and if I could buy them TODAY, I'd fix them for myself and enjoy them.
