Re: What Food items have you bought from QVC ?

[ Edited ]

Here are our top picks for QVC food items we buy fairly frequently:

• Heartland Fresh Chicken Fried Chicken with Gravy (on auto-delivery
since it was first available; the sides occasionally offered are only okay,
but we love the chicken with the gravy and in many other preparations)
• Authentic Gourmet Croissants (even though they're smaller than they
were when we first set up auto-delivery)
• Enstrom's (no-almond) Butter Toffee Petites (amazing in both milk and
dark chocolate—they do get a little stuck in your teeth despite any
claims made on air, but it's just a little and it's soooo worth it)
• Bauer's Modjeskas (only the original or sea salt caramel versions; for
some reason, the other flavors alter the taste and texture too much)
• Silvestri Sweets Sea Salt Caramels (wonderful in both milk and dark)
• Landies Candies pretzels or Splitz (the dark chocolate sea salt caramel
flavor is our favorite but it is rarely available at QVC)
• Mrs. Prindables triple chip apples (people would be disappointed if
these weren't offered at our annual holiday parties despite all the other
delicious homemade goodies; worth waiting for CIJ or One Time Only
  prices to purchase)

We also occasionally purchase the Rastelli's pork ribeyes; they're delicious but too expensive to have in the regular rotation (if they dropped closer to $4 or $5 each, we could easily justify that still-high price). I'm not much of a bagel person, but the Just Bagels challah bagels are fantastic. And we've started buying items from The Pretzel Co., a vendor that is new to the Q, and they have all been very fresh and tasty.

And although it is true that most of these items have premium price tags, their quality and convenience make them worth the cost to us.

Happy shopping and eating!  Smiley Happy

Wait, I forgot two more items worth mentioning:

• Whenever the Squirrel Brand Brown Butter Cashews go on sale,
we stock up! Even non-nut people (like me) love them because they
have such a wonderful buttery sweet flavor and great texture.

• Everton Toffee pretzels are one of the best deals at QVC and are
absolutely scrumptious! We've enjoyed the original and the (only offered
in cool weather) chocolate-covered versions, but there are several other
  flavors available.

Re: What Food items have you bought from QVC ?

A few years ago I bought honey bells (the fruit) and they were horrible.  I ended up throwing them away because it didn't seem practical to box them up and return them.

Since then I decided it was not a good thing to order food from anyone on line.

@Susan345 - Just FYI, food items cannot be physically returned for health and safety reasons; if you ever order again and encounter an unsatisfactory item, you can simply contact customer service for a refund.

Just Cherly's cookies for several family members and no one like them.

I bought the salmon and it was good BUT some pieces in the bag lost its vacuum seal and I am concerned if it is safe to eat. Can someone tell me if they had the same experience.

rastelli daddy always talks about the vac.seal and how they vac seal tight to keep bacteria out. So what's the deal.

@branny if they didn't thaw, they should be fine.  They will get freezer burn before the ones that didn't lose the seal, so eat them before eating the others.

Re: What Food items have you bought from QVC ?

I don't like to cook.  Wish I did, but I'd rather be out working in the yard.  I occasionally like to cook bread or desserts, but meal prep is a pain for me especially if I'm also cleaning up for company and then have to clean all the dishes afterwards while everybody else is hanging out.

Every year I get the St. Clair sides for Thanksgiving, as long as one of them is not something with broccoli in it.  I used to get the 4 sides, cook 2 for Thanksgiving and save 2 for later, but this year they offered 2 sides, 1 Mac & Cheese and your choice from 3 others (M131484).  I chose he cornbread dressing.  I would like it better if the cornbread dressing was the 1st side and I could choose one from the other 3.

I've tried all sorts of "easy" options for Thanksgiving including from the grocery store, Cracker Barrel, etc. and I was always disappointed in the taste, so I stick with what I like.  Cracker Barrell is also a huge pain to get the food.  I really wish we could just go to Ruth Chris for Thanksgving.

Currently, we also have two boxes of David's Cookies in the freezer, chocolate chip for me and oatmeal raisin for DH.  That way we can just pull one or two out and cook up at our convenience.  We tend to forget about them though, so they're not going fast.

We've had the Junior's Cheesecake minis in the past, but I see those in Kroger now, so I can get those there.

Also, several years ago I got the mini croissants, the ones that came frozen flat.  Really liked those and would like to try the ones with chocolate, but last I saw them they were just way too expensive.  Not sure if they still sell them or not.

Kansas City Steakburger, they're cheaper on QVC than the Kansas City website.

Years ago, Corky's Ribs.

Used to buy Grandma's Coffeecake, but my local store sells a smaller one a lot cheaper than QVC.

Re: What Food items have you bought from QVC ?

Many years ago I used to purchase their Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes.  Thought they were very good.

I ordered their small bagels because they looked like the one's a co-worker used to surprise us with  (they were so good!) but the ones from QVC did not match, too doughy.  Very disappointed.

Once I ordered their Thanksgiving sides and was not impressed at all.

Recently ordered fudge from the Q and I think it arrives in December.  We'll see.  Hope it's good.

The only 2 times of food I have bought are Farmer Johns popcorn and Mrs. Prindable carmel apples.  They were both very good.
