Re: What Crazy Thing Would You Like for a Holiday Meal?

I would love loads and loads of really good Dim Sum and really good Potstickers.

Pizza for Thanksgiving.  Hate turkey and most of the rest of it.  Love cranberry sauce.

My family and friends think I'm crazy because I typically have some combo of fresh shrimp, scallops and stone crab for Thanksgiving dinner, so I'll stick with that.

I don't like and won't eat the vast majority of the traditional Thanksgiing dinner, no matter how much some tries the "but you haven't had green bean casserole the way I make it and it will hurt my feelings if you don't eat it" nonsense. Think about it - if it were truly that great of a meal, why do we only eat it once a year?

i'm also not in to the "sport eating" event that holiday meals seem to be. Just normal sized portions/meals and regular meal times are my preference. That, too, seems to be "crazy" to a number of people in my circle.

@TheWanderingOne Your thoughts are familiar!  We tried the Green Bean Casserole way back when it came out and was popular.  We all hated it.  So ever after it was and is plain old green beans for us.

We even had plain baked sweet potatoes too, and toppings for those who wanted them.  We never had mashed potatoes--nobody wanted them.  And almost never had rolls because we forgot to put them on the table!  Woman Embarassed

Tradition Isn't the worship of ashes,

it's the preservation of fire.
