Has to be fruitcake.

I don't like any kind of cake that has a lot of sugary thick tasteless frosting. So like from a grocery store bakery, yuck! I also don't like fruitcake with those candied whatever fruits in it. But pretty much everything else is fair game.

@Sooner --what a great idea!!! I LOVE anything with peaches in it!! Dads are funny--I once enhanced a rather pale looking gravy using food color--got it too greenish, and it looked like ---well -----mucus.... to be polite---and god bless my dad--he ate it with his mashed spuds and raved about how good the gravy tasted--which it did despite the unfortunate color. the rest of us---did not, including me!!! ![]()

I am ok with a thin sliced fruitcake occasionally and love icing on some cakes -- but do NOT frost a fruitcake ![]()
I don't like red velvet ( I agree with posters saying it is just chocolate cake with red food coloring). I do not like german chocolate or pineapple upside down cake.

I would like to have my grandmothers Jam Cake and her Stack Cake once more to see how I like them as an adult.
I remember liking the jam cake made with homemade blackberry jam or her thick and chunky apple butter. She used dried apples to make the filling for stack cake.

I don't know. We don't eat much cake or pie. I rather eat a cookie or piece of chocolate.
We love Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate Cake recipe with frosting. Been wanting to try Hershey's German Chocolate Cake recipe.
Our Birthday's are next month so one of us will make one of these cakes.

@Citrine1 @sabatini It is nice to know that there are still people who appreciate poetry. A Child's Garden of Verses was also my first book of poetry. My children grew up with all my books, including that one. I think that it may still be in the house.
In high school, I started writting poetry and won a couple of poetry contests and had some published in the National Anthology of High School Poetry. I have enjoyed Emily Dickenson's work since high school age.
In my 20's , 30's, and 40's I wrote some more that were published. I have not been so inspired in recent years.
All my poems are written in a little book, that few people have seen. Maybe they will be discovered when I have departed this world.
